# Generate Blog

> Write a full blog post from a title, in a Rich or Standard format and the length you choose, grounded in your brand profile and visibility data.

Generate Blog writes a complete post from a title, using your brand profile and your visibility data, structured so AI engines can quote it. Open it from **Generate Blog** in the Create section of the sidebar. The page has two parts: the **New blog post** card, and the **Blog library** of every post written for this brand.

## Write a post

### 1. Set the title
Type a title into **Blog title**. With the field empty, **Start from an idea** offers your top [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas) still to write; press **Use** on one to fill the title and attach the idea. Arriving from **Write this post** on Blog Ideas does the same.

Once the title reads as a known format (a ranked list, a how-to, a comparison), a line under the field shows it beside the format AI cites most on your gap prompts, so you can see whether the two match.

### 2. Choose the output format
- **Rich**, marked **Recommended**, adds charts, tables, stat callouts and a pull-quote built from your own data. Best on your own site. Exports naturally as HTML.
- **Standard** is clean Markdown: headings, lists and tables, with at most one chart. It drops into any CMS.

### 3. Choose the length

| **Long**, a comprehensive guide | 2,300–3,200 |

Ranqo recommends a length from the title (a "what is" title fits Short, a complete guide fits Long) and marks it on the card. It follows the title as you type until you pick a length yourself.

### 4. Add context (optional)
When no idea is attached, **Add context (optional)** opens a **Description** of what the post should cover and a **Target prompts** field for the AI prompts it should answer (press Enter after each). When an idea is attached, its description, reasoning and target prompts travel with the title instead, shown in the **From Blog Ideas** box. **Remove** detaches the idea and keeps the title.

### 5. Generate
Press **Generate**. The button is disabled until there is a title, and when you have used this month's allowance.

## What every post includes

Whatever the format and length, the generator follows the same four rules, listed on the card under **Every post includes**:

- **The answer up front**: the question the title implies is answered early, within roughly the first 150 words.
- **FAQ section.**
- **Article and FAQ schema**: JSON-LD structured data (an Article, plus an FAQ page when the post has FAQ questions) is generated with the post and included in the exports.
- **Only your real numbers**: the post cites only figures it has from your brand data, and charts and stat callouts only ever show real data. Where there is no number, it uses plain directional language instead of inventing one.

## The run

A post is written in two passes. The run page shows each phase as it happens: **Preparing** the brief from your brand, the topic and its prompts; **Drafting** the full article, which streams onto the page with a live word count; **Polishing**, a second editing pass that refines rhythm and word choice so the draft reads naturally; and **Finalizing**, which formats the post, adds the schema and saves it. A post usually takes about two minutes.

If the polishing pass fails, the post is saved from the draft rather than lost. When the run finishes, the post opens.

## The post page

A post opens with its status (**Draft** until it is published live), its title, word count and structure, and the prompts it targets when it came from an idea. From the top bar:

- **Publish** sends it to a connected WordPress site. See [Publishing to WordPress](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/publishing).
- **Download** exports it as a complete HTML page, Markdown or a ZIP bundle, or copies HTML, Markdown or the JSON-LD. See [Exporting content](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/exporting-content).
- The bin icon deletes it.

## The Blog library

Every post written for the brand appears in the **Blog library** under the compose card. Each card draws a small cover from the post itself, such as its first chart or its sections, and shows **Rich post** or **Standard post**, the first line, the word count and reading time, what is inside (charts, callouts, sections, tables), whether it has an FAQ and schema, and its status.

The icon toggle in the header switches to a table (**Post**, **Words**, **Read**, **Structure**, **Status**, **Created**). Your choice is remembered in this browser. Click a card or row to open the post. Its menu has **Open**, **Download HTML**, **Download Markdown**, **Publish…** and **Delete…**.

## Monthly limit

Each post uses one generation from your plan's monthly allowance: Starter includes 5 posts a month and Pro 20. The library's footer shows how many you have used this month. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits).

**Deleting a post does not give the slot back:**
The month's count is kept in a usage ledger, not read from the posts that still exist, so deleting a post, removing the brand or starting it fresh leaves the count unchanged. A run that fails before it saves anything does return its slot. Anything already published to WordPress stays there when you delete the post in Ranqo.
