# Ranqo Docs > Documentation for Ranqo, the complete AI search visibility suite. Ranqo tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Grok answer the questions buyers ask, audits pages for AI readability, ranks the fixes most likely to move visibility, and drafts content for the prompts a brand does not win. Every number in these docs (plan limits, engine pools, thresholds) is rendered from the code that enforces it. Each page is also available as markdown at its URL with `.md` appended. # Introduction > Guides for every page of the Ranqo dashboard, the method behind every number, and the integrations that bring your own traffic in. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides Ranqo helps you track, analyze and improve how AI engines talk about your brand. - **Track** whether the answers to your buyers' questions name you, where you rank, and which sources those answers cite. - **Analyze** why: which competitors AI names instead of you, and whether AI can read your site. - **Improve** it: work through ranked recommendations, create the content AI is missing, and let the next run measure whether it worked. ## Get started From adding your first brand to reading its first run. - [Quickstart](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/quickstart): Add your first brand and get its first visibility score. - [How Ranqo works](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/how-ranqo-works): What gets measured, how often, and what each page is for. - [Your first week](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week): What runs by itself after the first run, and what to do first. - [Tour the dashboard](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/dashboard-tour): Home, the sidebar and the header, section by section. ## Work the loop The dashboard follows one loop: see where you stand, find what stops AI from citing you, act on it, and create what is missing. - [Monitor](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility): What AI says about you: visibility, prompts, competitors, sources and traffic. - [Analyze](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit): Whether AI can read your site, page by page and crawler by crawler. - [Act](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center): What to do next, ranked, and whether it moved the number. - [Create](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas): Content for the questions where AI does not name you yet. ## Understand the numbers The method behind every figure on the dashboard. - [How Ranqo measures](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology): Runs, answers, engines, and how an answer is read. - [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/visibility): The share of answers that name you, weighted by engine. - [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice): Your slice of every brand mention in your category. - [Why numbers change](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/why-numbers-change): Every reason a figure can move, even for a week that is over. ## Connect your stack Bring your own traffic in, and publish from Ranqo to your site. - [Site Tracking](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking): AI crawler visits and AI referral traffic, measured on your own server. - [Google Analytics](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/ga4): Visits from AI platforms, read from your GA4 property. - [WordPress](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/wordpress): Publish generated posts straight to your site. - [All integrations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations): Every connection and whether it is live. Working with an AI assistant? Every page is also plain markdown; see [Use the docs with AI](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/tours-and-tutorials#use-the-docs-with-ai). --- # How Ranqo works > What Ranqo measures, how often it runs, and what each dashboard page in the Monitor, Analyze, Act and Create loop is for. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/how-ranqo-works Ranqo asks AI engines the questions your buyers ask, records whether the answers name your brand, and helps you change the answer. This page explains what gets measured, how often, and which dashboard page does what. ## What gets measured A **prompt** is one question a buyer might put to an AI assistant, such as "best CRM for a small sales team". Each brand tracks a set of prompts, grouped into themes and categories. Ranqo can ask them on 6 engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI Overviews. Which engines a brand tracks depends on your plan: see [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). Every time Ranqo asks a brand's tracked prompts on each of its engines, that is a **run**. For every answer, a run records: - whether the answer named your brand, and where in the answer, - how the answer described you (positive, neutral or negative), - which competitors it named instead of or alongside you, - which web pages it cited as sources. ## How often Runs are scheduled. Each brand runs every 7 days, on its own anniversary of the last run, and the dashboard shows when the next one is due. There is no button to start a run by hand. See [Your first week](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week) for what happens around each run. ## The loop The sidebar follows the loop Ranqo is built around: see where you stand, find what stops AI from citing you, act on it, and create the content that is missing. Then the next run measures whether it worked. **Home** sits above the four sections and summarises all of them for the brand you are viewing. See [Tour the dashboard](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/dashboard-tour). ### Monitor: what AI says about you - **Visibility:** how often AI names you, your average position, sentiment and Share of Voice, broken down by engine and prompt category. See [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility). - **Prompts:** the questions you track, in three views: Library, Themes and Tracking. See [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts). - **Competitors:** the brands AI names in the same answers, and where they lead you. See [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors). - **Sources:** the sites and pages AI cites when it answers in your category. See [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources). - **Traffic:** visits that come from AI platforms, from Google Analytics or from Site Tracking on your own server. It carries a Beta tag. See [Traffic](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/traffic). - **Snapshots:** the history of every run. See [Snapshots](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/snapshots). ### Analyze: whether AI can read your site - **Page Audit:** scores one page on how well AI can crawl, read and cite it, dimension by dimension, and lists the fixes. See [Page Audit](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit). - **Site Access:** checks whether AI crawlers and Google can fetch your site, and what your robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap tell them. See [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access). ### Act: what to do next - **Action Center:** recommendations ranked by expected impact, worked on a board from Suggested to Done. When you finish one, later runs measure whether it moved the number. See [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center). - **Outreach:** the Reddit communities, threads and publications AI cites in your space, ranked, with a draft comment, post or pitch when you ask for one. Ranqo never posts for you. See [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach). ### Create: content for the questions you do not win - **Blog Ideas:** post ideas built from the tracked prompts where AI did not name you. See [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas). - **Generate Blog:** writes a full post for a title or an idea. See [Generate Blog](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/generate-blog). - **Content Optimizer:** takes an existing page on your site and returns rewrites, additions, an FAQ and schema markup that make it easier for AI to cite. See [Content Optimizer](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/content-optimizer). At the bottom of the sidebar, **Learning Center** holds the video tutorials, **Integrations** connects Google Analytics and WordPress, and **Settings** holds your profile, plan and team. **Tip:** Every dashboard page has its guide one click away: choose **Help** in the header, then **Read the guide**. ## Where to start - [Quickstart](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/quickstart): Add your first brand and get its first visibility score. - [Your first week](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week): What runs by itself after the first run, and what to do first. - [Tour the dashboard](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/dashboard-tour): Home, the sidebar and the header, section by section. - [Glossary](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/glossary): Every term the dashboard uses, in a sentence or two. --- # Quickstart: add your first brand > Add a brand from its website, confirm the profile, market and keywords, pick themes and engines, and watch the first run land. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/quickstart Adding a brand takes one field and a few confirmations. Ranqo reads your site, drafts the profile, researches your market while you choose engines, writes the prompts and runs them. The wizard shows "About 3 minutes end to end" on its first screen. Open **Brands** and choose **Add Brand**, or pick **Add New Brand** from the brand switcher at the top of the sidebar. The wizard runs full screen, with a four-step bar across the top: Identify, Confirm, Plan and Launch. ### 1. Identify: enter your website Type your website into the **Website** field and choose **Analyze my site**. Ranqo reads the homepage and drafts your brand profile, including the brand name, so the website is all you enter. While it reads, the card shows a live timer and a short map of what comes next. If you arrived from the free AI visibility checker, the field is already filled in with the site you checked. Nothing runs until you press the button. ### 2. Confirm, part 1: Is this your brand? Check what Ranqo drafted. The pill in the corner reads **Drafted from** your domain when the site was read. - **Brand name:** click the name to edit it. **Change** takes you back to enter a different website. - **What you do:** the plain-language description AI sees when it asks about you. - **Category:** the shelf AI puts you on, such as "CRM Software". - **Aliases:** other names that should count as a mention of you, such as an abbreviation. Each alias is matched literally, so add only real variants. Suggested variants appear below the field; click one to add it. - **Advanced options:** a **Logo URL override**, if the logo your site declares is not the one you want. Choose **That's us**. ### 3. Confirm, part 2: Where your buyers are Pick who you sell to. This applies to every question Ranqo asks. - **Worldwide:** questions are asked globally, tied to no one market. - **One country:** every question is asked like a buyer in that country. Pick it under **Target country**. - **City or region:** asked like a buyer in one metro area, for local services. Type it under **Target location**. **Language** sets the language your prompts are written in and the language Ranqo asks the engines to answer in. The choices are English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Portuguese. The dashboard itself stays in English. When the country you pick usually searches in another language, a suggestion such as "Buyers there search in German" appears beside the field; click it to switch. The line under the fields states what your choice does, for example "Prompts written in German · every check asked from Germany". Choose **Looks right**. ### 4. Confirm, part 3: How buyers find you Keep the keywords that describe what buyers search for and remove the rest. Type a keyword and press Enter to add one, or choose **Suggest more**. You need at least 2 keywords to continue. The example questions on this card are illustrations only. Your real prompts are written from market research after you confirm. Choose **Start research & see my plan**. This creates the brand and starts researching your market. ### 5. Plan: pick themes and engines The Plan step opens straight away. While research runs, a progress strip shows how far along it is, and you can already choose engines under **Platforms**. - **Themes** arrive pre-selected. Each theme is a set of buyer questions built from the research, with a few of the competitors AI often names for it. A **Trending** tag marks a theme the research found gaining attention. Click a theme to leave it out. - **Platforms** lists the engines your plan includes, with a default set already selected; click an engine to turn it on or off. Agency plans choose any 4 of 6. Engines your plan does not include are shown locked, with the plan that adds them on hover and an **Unlock more engines** link. The summary line shows how many prompts, themes and platforms you picked. The first run asks up to 20 prompts, spread across your themes, or fewer if your account has less prompt allowance left. Choose **Generate prompts & start tracking**. ### 6. Launch: watch the first run Ranqo writes your prompts theme by theme, then asks each one on each engine you picked. The live feed shows every question with a verdict per engine as the answers arrive: a check and a rank when AI named you, a dash when it did not. When the last answer is in, Ranqo scores the run and shows your visibility score. **Go to my dashboard** opens the Visibility page; after a short pause it opens by itself. You do not have to watch. **Continue to dashboard** in the top bar leaves at any point, and the run keeps going. The Visibility page shows the same live progress until the first run completes. ## If the site could not be read Some sites block automated reads, time out or return an error. In that case the pill reads **From AI knowledge** and a note on the first card explains what went wrong. The fields then come from what AI already knows about your brand, so check them carefully. If there was nothing to draft from, the fields are empty and you fill them in. ## If theme research fails When Ranqo cannot build custom themes, the Plan step says so and offers two ways on: - **Use standard starter set** skips themes and tracks a general set of 10 prompts. - **Try again** reruns the research. ## Leaving and coming back **Save & exit** in the top bar takes you to **Brands**. What happens next depends on how far you got. - **Before the brand is created** (Identify and Confirm), your answers live only in that browser tab. Reopen the wizard in the same tab to carry on. - **After you chose Start research & see my plan**, the brand exists and its research is saved. Its card on **Brands** reads **Finish setup**, and opening it, or switching to it in the sidebar, returns you to the Plan step. This works from any device. Until you finish, the pages that need a run to show anything, such as Visibility and Competitors, show **Finish setting up tracking** with a **Finish Setup** button. - **Once the brand exists**, reopening the wizard in the same tab offers **Resume setup** or **Start a different brand**. Finishing a setup never counts against your brand limit a second time: the brand already holds its slot. If you choose **Start research & see my plan** for a website that already belongs to one of your live brands, Ranqo opens that brand, or its unfinished setup, rather than creating a second one. ## Adding back a brand you removed If the website belongs to a brand you removed, choosing **Start research & see my plan** shows **This brand was previously removed**, with its prompts, runs, competitors and sources counted. - **Restore Data** brings the brand back with its history and opens its Visibility page. There is no new setup. - **Start Fresh** replaces it with a new brand and runs the setup again. Until your account has a paid subscription, during a free trial for example, a removed brand that completed an analysis still holds a brand slot. It can be restored but not started fresh. When removed brands are what fill your brand limit, the Add a brand page lists them with a **Restore** button instead of opening the wizard. See [Billing and trials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/billing). ## Next steps - [Your first week](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week): What runs by itself after the first run, and what to look at first. - [Brand settings](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/brand-settings): Change the profile, market, language, keywords or engines later. - [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts): Add, pause and generate more prompts. --- # Your first week > What happens after your first run, when the next one is due, what Ranqo refreshes by itself, and what to look at in your first week. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week Your first run gives you a baseline. This page covers what Ranqo does on its own after that run, when the next one happens, and a short list of what to look at first. ## What the first run gives you When the first run completes, the wizard opens the **Visibility** page. You now have: - your visibility score, average position, sentiment and Share of Voice, overall and per engine, - the competitors AI named in the same answers, - the sites and pages AI cited when answering your prompts. These are single readings. Nothing can show a change yet: week-over-week deltas and trend lines need a second run. Until then, trend charts show one point, and the Home page's visibility score has no change chip under it. The Visibility card on the Visibility page reads **Stable** while the range before yours holds no run; that is not a comparison. See [One point per run](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/one-point-per-run). ## What Ranqo does by itself after a run Three things start automatically when a run completes, the first one included: - **Action Center recommendations.** Ranqo reads the run and builds a ranked plan of actions, so the Action Center is filled as soon as your first run lands. It rebuilds the plan after each weekly run. Work you have started or finished is kept. See [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center). - **Outreach targets.** Ranqo ranks the threads, communities and publications AI cites where you are missing. The list refreshes after a run at most once every 24 hours. See [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach). - **A Site Access check.** Ranqo fetches your homepage as each AI crawler and as a browser, and reports anything in the way. It checks automatically at most once every 7 days. See [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access). Blog ideas are not created automatically. Generate your first set on **Blog Ideas** when you are ready. See [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas). ## When the next run happens Each brand runs every 7 days. Ranqo checks once a day, at midnight UTC, for brands whose last run is at least that old, so each brand runs on its own weekly anniversary. You can see when yours is due in two places: - **The Home page header** reads, for example, "Last updated Sep 18, 4:12 PM" and "Refreshes Sep 25". - **The dashboard header**, on Visibility, Prompts, Competitors, Sources, Action Center and Snapshots, reads "Last updated Sep 18 · Refreshes Sep 25", or "Refreshing now" while a run is in progress. When the date has passed and the run has not started yet, the label reads **Refreshes tomorrow**: the next daily check picks it up. A run that fails is retried at the next daily check. Runs are scheduled only. There is no button to start one by hand. **When a brand does not run:** A brand is skipped when its tracking is paused, when it has no tracked prompts, or when the account's trial has ended without a subscription. A paused brand shows **Inactive** instead of a refresh date. See [Billing and trials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/billing) for what happens when a trial ends. ## Pausing and resuming Choose **Pause** in the Home page header, or **Pause tracking** from the brand's ⋯ menu on **Brands**, to stop a brand's weekly runs. Its history stays, and it shows as **Inactive**. Choose **Resume** to start again. If you resume before the brand's weekly anniversary, the next run waits for that date. If the anniversary has already passed, the brand runs at the next daily check, usually the next day. ## What changes with the second run After the second run completes: - The Home page scoreboard shows the change in visibility since an earlier run, for example "3.4 pts vs last week", or "Stable vs last week". See [Tour the dashboard](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/dashboard-tour#the-scoreboard) for which run it compares with and when the chip is hidden. - Trend charts draw a line between the two runs. - The Action Center counts runs for any recommendation you marked Done. A first reading needs 2 runs after you mark the work Done, and a verdict needs more. See [Measurement windows](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/measurement-windows). When you pick a date range with no run inside it, pages show the most recent run's values instead of blanks, with an **As of** note giving its date. See [Carried values](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values). ## A checklist for week one ### 1. Read the Visibility page Look at where you are named and where you are not: which engines, which prompt categories, which prompts. See [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility). ### 2. See who AI names instead Open **Competitors** to see which brands take the answers you miss, and add the ones you care about to your watchlist. See [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors). ### 3. Check where AI reads Open **Sources** to see which sites and page formats AI cites in your space. These are the places worth being mentioned. See [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources). ### 4. Start one recommendation Open **Action Center**, filter by **Quick Win**, and move one card to In Progress. When you mark it Done, Ranqo starts measuring it. See [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center). ### 5. Clear anything blocking crawlers If Site Access reports a blocker, fix it first: a crawler that cannot fetch your site cannot cite it. See [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access). ### 6. Audit your most important page Run a Page Audit on the page you most want AI to cite, and work through its top recommendations. See [Page Audit](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit). ### 7. Generate blog ideas Generate ideas for the tracked prompts where AI did not name you. See [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas). If more people will use Ranqo, invite them from **Settings**. See [Team and seats](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/team). --- # Tour the dashboard > A walk through the Ranqo dashboard, covering the Home page band by band, the sidebar and brand switcher, the header, and the Help menu. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/dashboard-tour The dashboard has three parts: the sidebar on the left, a header across the top, and the page itself. Home is the page you land on for a brand, and it summarises every other page. This guide goes through each part in turn. ## The sidebar **The brand switcher** sits at the top. It shows the brand you are viewing; click it to pick another. On a brand's page, switching keeps you on the same page, so if you are on Sources you land on the other brand's Sources. On Brands, Settings or the Learning Center it changes the selected brand without leaving the page. A brand whose setup is unfinished opens its setup instead. The menu also holds **Add New Brand** and **Manage Brands**, which opens the Brands page. Below it, **Home**, then four sections that follow the loop: | Section | Pages | |---|---| | Monitor | Visibility, Prompts, Competitors, Sources, Traffic, Snapshots | | Analyze | Page Audit, Site Access | | Act | Action Center, Outreach | | Create | Blog Ideas, Generate Blog, Content Optimizer | A few pages carry a marker: **Action Center** shows a count of your open recommendations, and **Traffic** carries a Beta tag. The section that holds the page you are on shows a coloured dot beside its label. At the bottom are **Learning Center**, **Integrations** and **Settings**. During a free trial, a card there shows the days you have left and an **Upgrade** link. For what each page does, see [How Ranqo works](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/how-ranqo-works). ## The header The left of the header shows where the brand's data stands, on Visibility, Prompts, Competitors, Sources, Action Center and Snapshots: - **Last updated Sep 18 · Refreshes Sep 25:** the last completed run and when the next is due. - **Refreshing now:** a run is in progress. - **First report pending...:** the brand has no run yet. - **Tracking inactive**, or **Inactive** after the date: tracking is paused. On the right are the **Help** menu (see below), a **Book a demo** button during a free trial, your name and **Sign out**. ## Home Home stacks four bands, top to bottom: the brand header, the scoreboard, two cards side by side (What needs you next and This week's signals), and the loop cards. ![Home for a brand: the brand header, the scoreboard with visibility and its by-platform bars, What needs you next and This week's signals, and the four loop cards.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/home.webp) ### The brand header The brand's logo and name, then one line of facts: its website, its market (the target location, or Worldwide), the language its prompts use, an icon per engine it tracks, whether tracking is **Active** or **Inactive**, when it was last updated and when it next refreshes. On the right, **Edit** opens [Brand settings](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/brand-settings) and **Pause** or **Resume** stops or restarts the weekly runs. A brand with no prompts shows **Add Prompts First** here, which opens Prompts. ### The scoreboard Every figure here comes from the latest completed run, except Share of Voice. - **AI Visibility:** the share of AI answers in the latest run that name you, weighted by engine. Under it, a chip such as "3.4 pts vs last week" or "Stable vs last week" compares it, in points, with the most recent run that finished more than seven days ago. The chip appears from the second run on, and is hidden while the latest run is itself more than a week old, for example while the brand is paused or the next weekly run is late. - **Avg position:** your average rank when AI mentions you. Lower is better. When the latest run did not rank you in any answer, it reads #0.0. - **Sentiment:** how AI describes you across its mentions, as a word from Positive through Mostly Positive, Neutral and Mostly Negative to Negative. - **Share of Voice:** of every brand mention AI made over the last 30 days, the share that was yours. It covers more runs than the figures beside it, so it can differ from the latest run's Share of Voice in Snapshots. - **By platform:** a bar per engine with its visibility. A dash means there is no run to read yet. The methods behind each number are in [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/visibility), [Average position](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/average-position), [Sentiment](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/sentiment) and [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice). ### What needs you next A short list of the most useful things to do now, drawn from three pages: open recommendations in **Action Center**, targets in **Outreach**, and ideas in **Blog Ideas**. Each row shows an impact chip, the page it opens and a rough effort. The list is ranked by estimated impact and takes turns between the three pages, so one busy page cannot fill it. **View all →** opens the Action Center. The strip at the bottom of the card follows the loop: when the brand was last measured and how many prompts, how many actions are done, how many posts are published, and when the next run re-measures. ### This week's signals What your tracking data says, in a few rows. The card's header names the date of the latest run, but the rows read wider ranges: the footprint, **Where AI reads** and **Winning format** count every citation from all of the brand's runs, and **Competitor pressure** reads the last 30 days. - **The footprint:** how many domains, citations and URLs AI cited, with the logos of the top sites. - **Site Access:** appears only when something is blocking AI crawlers. - **Competitor pressure:** the most visible competitor's Share of Voice against yours, or a note when you lead, and how many answers named it, such as *named in 24 of 80 answers*. Its link opens that competitor in Head-to-head on the Competitors page. - **Where AI reads:** the site cited most and the type of source cited most. - **Winning format:** the content formats cited most, with a short tip on each. - **Content:** your latest post, how many are published, and how many ideas are waiting. Each row links to the page that explains it. ### The loop cards Four cards, one per section: prompts tracked and competitors found (Monitor), your average page audit score (Analyze), open actions and outreach targets (Act), and content ideas and published posts (Create). A card with nothing to count says what to do first instead. ## The getting-started checklist A new account sees a checklist on Home with three steps: **Create your first brand**, **Generate tracking prompts** and **Run your first visibility analysis**. **Watch tour** plays the introduction video. You can dismiss the checklist at any point, and it shrinks to one line once all three steps are done. ## The Help menu **Help** in the header offers, depending on the page: - **Take the page tour:** a short walkthrough of the page, on the pages that have one. - **Watch the tutorial:** the Learning Center video for this page, with its length. - **Read the guide:** this page's guide in these docs. - **All tutorials:** the Learning Center. - **Documentation:** these docs. A dot on **Help** means this page has a tour you have not taken or a tutorial you have not watched. See [Tours and tutorials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/tours-and-tutorials). --- # Plans and limits > Every Ranqo plan's limits in one table, from brands and prompts to AI engines, audits and posts, rendered straight from the billing config. A paused prompt still counts, because it keeps its history. - **Monthly allowances reset on the first of each calendar month (UTC).** Deleting a finished post or an optimization does not give the slot back: the month's count is kept in a usage ledger, not read from the posts that still exist. A post whose generation failed before it finished does return its slot. - **Seats include you.** A plan with one seat has no team. Pending invites reserve a seat until they are accepted or revoked. ## Trials Starter and Pro start with a 7-day free trial and no credit card. See [Billing and trials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/billing) for what happens when a trial ends. --- # Glossary > Plain definitions of the terms the Ranqo dashboard uses, from prompts, runs and engines to Share of Voice, citations, noise bands and confirmed wins. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/glossary Every term you meet in the dashboard, in a sentence or two, with a link to the page that explains it in full. Terms are grouped by where you meet them. ## Tracking ### Prompt One question a buyer might ask an AI assistant, such as "best CRM for a small sales team". Ranqo asks your tracked prompts on every run. See [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts). ### Tracked, Paused and Never run The three states a prompt can be in. **Tracked** prompts are asked on every run. **Paused** prompts keep their history and sit out runs. **Never run** prompts were added but have not been tracked yet, so they have no results. ### Branded prompt A prompt that names your brand. An answer to a question about you will usually mention you, so branded prompts make visibility look higher than it is. The starter prompts are unbranded, and **Generate with AI** writes branded ones only when you pick the Comparison or Brand Research category. See [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts). ### Theme A group of related buyer questions built from research on your market, such as one use case or one buyer need. Themes organise your prompts, and you can generate more prompts from any theme. See [Themes](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/themes). ### Category The kind of question a prompt asks: Discovery, Problem/Solution, Use Case, Expert/Deep Dive, Comparison or Brand Research. Comparison and Brand Research questions usually name your brand. See [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts). ### Engine An AI assistant or AI search surface Ranqo asks your prompts on: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI Overviews. Your plan decides which ones a brand can track. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). ### Run One pass through a brand's tracked prompts, each asked on the engines it is set to. Runs happen every 7 days. See [Your first week](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/first-week). ### Snapshot The record of one run: its scores, answers and sources. The Snapshots page lists every run. See [Snapshots](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/snapshots). ### Reused answer When a query fails, the reading of the most recent successful answer to the same prompt on the same engine, if there is a recent one, used in its place. Snapshots mark it **imputed**. A run's own scores count reused answers; the cards on the Visibility and Competitors pages leave them out. See [When a query fails](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology#when-a-query-fails). ### Market Where your buyers are and what language they use: a reach (Worldwide, One country, or City or region), a target location, and a language. Ranqo asks every prompt as a buyer in that market would. See [Brand settings](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/brand-settings). ### Alias Another name that counts as a mention of your brand, such as an abbreviation. Aliases are matched literally. See [Brand settings](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/brand-settings). ## Metrics ### Visibility The share of AI answers to your tracked prompts that name your brand, with each engine weighted. One answer is one prompt asked on one engine in one run. See [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/visibility). ### Share of Voice Of every brand mention AI made in the answers, the share that was yours. See [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice). ### Average position Your average rank in an answer when AI mentions you. Lower is better. See [Average position](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/average-position). ### Sentiment How positively AI talks about you, scored 0 to 100. Neutral mentions count half, so 50 is neutral. See [Sentiment](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/sentiment). ### Difficulty How crowded a prompt's answers are with competitors, from None to Extreme. It is measured again from every run's answers. See [Difficulty and volume](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/difficulty-and-volume). ### Volume An estimate, made by the model that writes a prompt, of how often people ask it, on a scale from very low to very high. The hover labels say "search volume", but no search engine's counts are used. See [Difficulty and volume](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/difficulty-and-volume). ### Change since the previous run Change figures compare different things. The Visibility card in the Action Center compares the latest run with the one before it. The cards on the Visibility page compare the date range you picked with the range before it. The "vs last week" chip on Home compares the latest run with the most recent run that finished more than a week ago. There is nothing to compare until a brand has two runs. While the range before yours holds no run, the Visibility card on the Visibility page reads **Stable**. See [One point per run](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/one-point-per-run). ### Carried value When the date range you pick contains no run, pages show the latest completed run's values instead of blanks, with an **As of** note giving its date. A carried value has no change arrow. See [Carried values](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values). ## Competitors ### Competitor A brand AI names in the answers to your prompts. Ranqo detects competitors from the answers; the ones you add to your watchlist are your tracked competitors. See [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors). ### Qualified competitor A competitor that counts toward Share of Voice: one you track, one AI named more than once, or one reported with a valid website. One-off names do not count. See [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice). ### Competitor identity Ranqo decides once, per brand, which spellings of a competitor's name are the same company, so a name does not split or merge differently from run to run. See [Competitor identity](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/competitor-identity). ## Sources ### Citation A web page an engine gave as a source for its answer. See [Citations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/citations). ### Source A website AI cited. The Sources page lists sources by domain and by page. See [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources). ### % Answers The share of AI answers that cite a domain or page. One answer usually cites several, so the column does not add up to 100%. See [Citations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/citations). ### % Citations A domain's share of every citation AI made. Across all domains the column adds up to 100%. See [Citations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/citations). ### Source type How a cited site relates to you: You, Competitor, Company sites, Editorial, Forum, Review, Social, Video, Reference, Institutional or Other. See [Source and article types](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/source-and-article-types). ### Article type The format of a cited page, such as Ranked List, How-to Guide, Comparison or Review. See [Source and article types](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/source-and-article-types). ## Acting on results ### Recommendation An action in the Action Center, with steps, an expected outcome, and the metric it should move. You work it from Suggested to In Progress to Done. See [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center). ### Measurement window The number of runs Ranqo waits, after you mark a recommendation Done, before reading its effect. A first reading comes after 2 runs; a verdict takes more runs, how many depending on the kind of work. See [Measurement windows](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/measurement-windows). ### Noise band How large a change must be before Ranqo treats it as real rather than normal run-to-run variation: 15 points for overall visibility, 20 for one engine and 27 for one prompt category. See [Noise bands](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/noise-bands). ### Lift The change in a recommendation's target metric between its baseline and the runs after you marked it Done. It is shown as a number only when it clears the noise band. See [Noise bands](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/noise-bands). ### Confirmed win A prompt on one engine that did not name you when the recommendation was made, and named you in both of the two most recent runs since you marked it Done. A mention in only one run counts as provisional. See [Confirmed wins](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/confirmed-wins). ### Outreach target A place AI cites in your space: a Reddit community or thread, or a publication page such as a ranked list or comparison. Ranqo ranks targets by how much AI relies on them and how often those answers leave you out. See [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach). ## Your site ### Page Audit dimension One of the areas a Page Audit scores a page on, such as Crawlability or Citation Potential. Each has its own score and checks. See [Page Audit](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit). ### Site Access verdict The one state Site Access reports for your site: **Clear**, **Worth a look**, **Blocked** or **Unknown**. It is a state, not a score. See [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access). ### Crawler roles Site Access groups crawlers by what they do. **Live answers** crawlers fetch pages for AI assistants and AI search. **Search** crawlers index for search engines such as Google and Bing. **Training** crawlers collect data to train models; blocking them is a licensing choice, not a blocker. See [Crawlers](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/crawlers). ### RanqoBot The name Ranqo's own crawler uses when it fetches your site. You can allow or block it in robots.txt. See [ranqo.ai/bot](https://ranqo.ai/bot). ### Site Tracking A small piece of code on your server that sends Ranqo the visits from AI crawlers and from people arriving via AI assistants. See [Site Tracking](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking). ## Account ### Seat One person on your account, including you. A pending invitation holds a seat until it is accepted, revoked or expires. See [Team and seats](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/team). ### Brand slot One brand counted against your plan's brand limit. On an unpaid plan, such as during a free trial, a removed brand that completed an analysis keeps its slot. See [Billing and trials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/billing). --- # Visibility page > Read the Visibility page, from the four headline numbers and the trend chart to engine and category breakdowns, cited sources and filters. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility The Visibility page shows how AI engines answer your tracked prompts: whether they name you, where they rank you, and how they describe you. Open it from **Visibility** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. Every number on it comes from your tracking runs, which run every 7 days for each brand. ![The Visibility page: the filter row, the Visibility, Position, Sentiment and Share of Voice cards, the trend chart and the competitor ranking.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/visibility.webp) ## Before your first results - **No prompts yet.** The page shows **Set Up AI Visibility Tracking** with a **Set Up Prompts** button. Tracking needs prompts first. See [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts). - **First run in progress.** Until your first run completes, the page shows that run's live progress instead of the dashboard, and switches to the dashboard when it finishes. If the first run fails, you see **We couldn't finish your first analysis** with a **Retry analysis** button. - **A later run in progress.** An **Analysis running** bar appears above the cards. **View Progress** reopens the progress view. - **Nothing tracked.** If every prompt is paused, a bar says tracking is paused until you add some, with an **Add Prompts** button. ## Filters The row at the top narrows everything on the page: - **All Platforms**: the engines to include. - **All Locations**: the markets your prompts target. - **All Categories**: the prompt categories, such as Discovery or Comparison. - **All Themes**: appears once your tracked prompts fall into at least two themes (prompts without a theme count as one group, **No Theme**). See [Themes](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/themes). - **All Prompts**, **Branded** or **Unbranded**: whether to count prompts that name your brand. See [branded and unbranded prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts#branded-and-unbranded-prompts). - **The date range**: **Last 7 days**, **Last 30 days**, **Last 90 days**, **Last 365 days** or a custom range. It defaults to 30 days, because runs are weekly and a 7-day window holds at most one run, which leaves nothing to compare. The window starts at midnight in your own time zone. See [Time zones](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/time-zones). ## The four headline cards - **Visibility** (*How often you appear*): the share of AI answers in the window that name your brand, one answer per prompt per engine per run, with each engine weighted. The card's hover text says "tracked prompts", but the count is of answers. See [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/visibility). - **Position** (*Where you rank when cited*): your average rank in the answers that name you. Lower is better. The line under it, such as *12 of 40 cited*, counts the answers that named you out of every answer in the window. See [Average position](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/average-position). - **Sentiment** (*How AI describes you*): a score from 0 to 100 with a word for its band, and the count of positive, neutral and negative mentions beneath it. Neutral mentions count half, so 50 is neutral. See [Sentiment](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/sentiment). - **Share of Voice** (*Your slice vs competitors*): your share of every qualified brand mention in the same answers. The line under it counts your mentions out of all of them. See [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice). The cards count only answers that came back in their own run. A failed query, and an answer reused in its place, are both left out, so these figures can differ from a run's own scores in [Snapshots](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/snapshots). See [When a query fails](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology#when-a-query-fails). Each card compares the window with the one before it, for example *vs previous 30 days*. The arrow points up when the metric improved, so a Position that fell from 3.2 to 2.8 shows an up arrow. When the window before holds no run, as in your first 30 days, the cards show no change. Position and Sentiment also show none when no answer in the window before named you, and Share of Voice when no brand was named in it: there is no earlier value to compare with. A card that reads **--** means there is nothing to show: the brand has no completed run yet, or the filters exclude every answer. The cards do not say which. It never shows 0% for a brand that has not been measured. ### Values carried from an earlier run Because runs are weekly, a short window can hold no run at all. Instead of showing zeros, the cards show the last completed run's values with no comparison, because the window before it holds a different run. An **As of** note beside the date picker gives the date of the run the figures come from, and the trend chart says *No tracking run landed in this range. Widen the date range to plot the last one*. If your filters also match nothing in that run, the cards read **--**. See [Carried values](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values). ## The trend chart The chart's title follows the metric you pick with the **Visibility**, **Position** and **Sentiment** toggle. The large number is the same figure as the matching card above. Beside it is the change against the previous window, as on the card; when there is no previous figure to compare with, it shows the difference between the first and last points in the window instead. - **One point per run.** Each point is a run that happened, on a time axis, so weekly runs sit a week apart. Days between runs are left empty rather than filled in. See [One point per run](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/one-point-per-run). - **Competitor lines.** Your brand is always shown, marked **(You)**. Each competitor on your watchlist gets a chip below the chart: click it to add or remove its dashed line. With no tracked competitors, the chart says *Track competitors to compare trends here*. - **Changes.** When you added or removed prompts or engines inside the window, a **Changes** button shows how many times. Turn it on to mark each change on the chart, then hover or click a marker to see what changed. A **Tracking config changed** banner above the chart says the same for the latest run, because trends across a change may not be directly comparable. - **Paused tracking.** When tracking is paused for the brand, the stretch after the last run is shaded, and labelled *No runs since* that date when the stretch is wide enough to hold the label. ## Competitors The card titled with your brand's name, such as **Acme's Competitors**, ranks the brands AI names most visibly, with **Visibility**, **Position**, **Sentiment** and **Mentions** for each, and each metric's change against the previous period. The box at the end of a row adds that brand to your watchlist, or removes it. Your own row is always shown, even when you rank outside the top of the list. The footer states **Your Rank** among all brands found. **View All** opens the [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors) page. ## Share of Voice The ring shows your share of every qualified brand mention, with the figure in the middle marked **Your share**. The **Competitors** menu chooses which competitors get their own slice. Every other qualified competitor is grouped into **Others**, so the ring always adds up to 100%. Hover a slice or a legend row to highlight it in both places. ## Category Visibility and Platform Breakdown Both cards use the same table: a bar for **Visibility**, then **Position** and **Sentiment** for each row. - The thin tick on every bar marks the card's average, which the column header prints as **AVG** and the footer repeats as **Avg Visibility**. - Hover a Visibility figure to see the raw count behind it, for example *6 of 20 responses cite you*. - **Category Visibility** has one row per prompt category. The header count, such as *4 of 5 active*, is the number of categories where AI names you at all. - **Platform Breakdown** has one row per engine. It ignores the **All Platforms** filter, since comparing engines is its job. Google AI Overviews is labelled **AI Overviews** next to its logo. See [No data for an engine](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/no-data-for-an-engine) if an engine shows no results. ## Position Distribution This card shows how often AI names you first, second, third, fourth or lower, or not at all, across every answer in the window. The header counts the queries and how many of them cited you. The footer is the **Top 3 Rate**: the share of answers that rank you in the top three. ## Top Citation Sources The domains AI cites most in the answers to your prompts: - **% Answers**: the share of answers that cite the domain. One answer usually cites several domains, so this column does not add up to 100%. - **% Citations**: the domain's share of every citation AI made. The card lists only the top domains, so this column shows part of the whole. - **Source Types** and **Content Types**: two rings showing what kind of sites are cited (your own site, competitors, editorial, forums and so on) and what format the cited pages take. Click a domain to see the pages AI cited on it. **View All** opens the [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources) page. The footer reads, for example, *AI names you alongside 12 of the 85 domains it cites in your space*, followed by how many outreach targets are waiting. A domain counts when the answers citing it also name your brand. **Start Outreach** opens [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach), where those sites become a work queue. ## Links into the Action Center The footers of **Category Visibility**, **Position Distribution** and **Platform Breakdown** can carry a link into the [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center), such as naming your weakest category or engine. A link appears only when its claim holds for the data on screen: for example when one category or engine trails the leader by a clear margin or has no visibility at all, or when some of your mentions land fourth or lower. With the claim not met, no link is shown. ## Exporting **Export PDF** at the top of the page downloads the page as a report, using the period and filters you have set. It appears once the brand has a completed run. See [Reports and exports](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/reports-and-exports). ## Related - [Visibility, the method](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/visibility): How the visibility figure is calculated and weighted. - [Why numbers change](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/why-numbers-change): Every reason a figure can move between runs. - [Visibility is zero](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/visibility-is-zero): What to check when the page shows no mentions. --- # Prompts > Add, generate, track and pause the questions Ranqo asks AI engines for your brand, and read each prompt's results on its own page. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts A prompt is a question Ranqo asks each AI engine on your behalf, in the words a buyer would use. Every visibility number starts here: a tracked prompt is asked on every weekly run, on every engine it is set to, and each answer is read for your brand, your competitors and the sources cited. Open the page from **Prompts** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. ![The Prompts page on the Library tab: the category mix, the filters, and tracked prompts with their category, volume, difficulty, engines and Tracking switch.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/prompts.webp) ## The three tabs - **Library**: the set of prompts you ask, with the controls to add, track, pause and delete them. - **Themes**: topic clusters from research on your category, each one a source of new prompts. See [Themes](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/themes). - **Tracking**: what came back for each tracked prompt. See [The Tracking tab](#the-tracking-tab) below. The tab you pick is kept in the page address, so a link or a reload opens the same tab. ## Tracked, Paused and Never run Every prompt is in one of three states, shown by the switch in its **Tracking** column: - **Tracked**: asked on every weekly run. - **Paused**: was tracked before, but sits out the weekly run. It keeps whatever history it has. - **Never run**: has never been tracked, so it has no results yet. Flip the switch to track or pause a prompt. Every change ends in a message with **Undo**. Undoing the tracking of a prompt that had never run returns it to **Never run**. The card's subtitle says what the next run will do. It gives the next run's date, or says that weekly runs start once at least one prompt is tracked, or that tracking is paused for the whole brand. A brand is paused from the **Pause** button on its Home page. ### Pausing your last tracked prompt Weekly runs need at least one tracked prompt, so pausing the last one asks first: **Pause your last tracked prompt?** Everything measured so far stays, but no run happens until you track a prompt again. Choose **Pause anyway** to go ahead. When nothing in the library is tracked, a banner offers **Track all N** (or **Track this prompt** when there is only one) to switch every prompt on at once. ## Adding prompts The two buttons in the card header add prompts. Both are disabled once you reach your plan's prompt limit, with a note saying how many of your plan's prompts you have used. ### Add manually **Add manually** offers **Write one** or **Import a list**: - **Write one**: type the prompt, pick its category, the engines to ask it on (**Track on**) and the market it targets. - **Import a list**: paste one prompt per line. The category, engines and market you pick apply to all of them. Lines already in your library are skipped. **Track on** and the market start with the brand's settings. Each prompt keeps the engines and market it is saved with, and every run asks it on those engines, from that market. Changing the brand's market later leaves existing prompts as they are, and changing the brand's engines updates only the tracked prompts whose engines matched the brand's. See [Brand settings](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/brand-settings#when-a-change-takes-effect). To change one prompt, choose **Edit** from its **⋯** menu. Prompts you add by hand are tracked from the next run. **Tip:** Write a prompt the way a buyer would type it, without your brand's name. A short keyword query such as "best CRM for a small sales team" works as well as a full question. ### Generate with AI **Generate with AI** opens the **Generate prompts** page: - **Your first set.** With no prompts yet, Ranqo writes 10 starter prompts from your saved brand profile, spread across the unbranded categories. Choose the market and the engines, then press **Generate prompts**. - **Later sets.** You can add an optional **Description** of what to focus on, and choose the market, the engines (**Track on**), the **Categories** and the **Number of prompts**. The number stops at the slots left on your plan. Prompts that repeat ones you already have are skipped. Generated prompts are saved to your library as **Never run**. Tick the ones you want and press **Add to Tracking**. When those are the brand's first prompts, adding them starts your first analysis right away and takes you to the [Visibility page](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility). ## Branded and unbranded prompts An unbranded prompt asks about your category without naming you, the way a buyer who has not heard of you would ask. A branded prompt names your brand. Ranqo writes unbranded prompts by default. A prompt that names your brand gets an answer about your brand almost by definition, so a visibility score built on branded prompts says little about whether new buyers find you. The two categories that can name you, **Comparison** and **Brand Research**, are left out of generation unless you select them, and selecting them shows a warning. A prompt marked as branded carries a **Branded** pill in the library. The **All Prompts**, **Branded** and **Unbranded** filter on the Visibility and Competitors pages separates the two. ## The Library table | Column | What it shows | | --- | --- | | Prompt | The question. Click it to open the prompt's insights page (not available for a prompt that has never run). | | Category | Discovery, Problem/Solution, Use Case, Expert/Deep Dive, Comparison or Brand Research. | | Volume | The writing model's estimate, made once when it wrote the prompt, of how often your audience asks this kind of question. Not a search count. Empty for prompts you add yourself. | | Difficulty | How crowded the answers are with competitors, from no competition to extreme. | | Platforms | The engines the prompt is asked on. | | Location | The market the prompt targets. | | Added | When the prompt joined the library. | | Tracking | The switch and the state word. | Difficulty starts as an estimate made when the prompt is written. After every run that asks the prompt, it is replaced by a measured level based on how many competitors the answers named. An empty meter means either that the answers named no competitors or that there is no estimate yet; hover it to see which. When the model that wrote a prompt gave no estimate, the middle level is stored instead, so the prompt shows High competition until its first run. See [Difficulty and volume](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/difficulty-and-volume). Sort by **Volume**, **Difficulty** or **Added**. Filter with the search box and **All Categories**, **All Themes**, **All Platforms**, **All Locations**, **All Tracking** (the three states) and **All Dates** (the month a prompt was added). The bar above the filters shows how the visible prompts split across categories. ## Acting on several prompts Hover a row's number to reveal its checkbox. Once rows are selected, a bar offers **Track selected**, **Pause selected** and **Delete…**, and a checkbox appears in the header that selects every prompt the current filters show. ## Editing and deleting The **⋯** menu on each row offers **View insights**, **Edit** and **Delete…**. Deleting always asks first, because a deleted prompt's answers go with it and cannot be recovered. Figures worked out from those answers, past runs included, can change. When the prompt is tracked, the dialog offers **Pause instead**, which takes it out of the weekly run and keeps its history. ## The plan meter The footer counts your prompts by state and shows how many of your plan's prompts you use, in the form *N of M prompts on your plan*. The allowance is shared across all your brands. It counts every prompt, tracked, paused or never run, so pausing a prompt does not free a slot. To free one, delete a prompt. An **Upgrade** link appears as you near the limit. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). ## The Tracking tab The Tracking tab shows what came back for each prompt in the last 30 days, or the last 7 if you pick that range (a longer range still shows 30 days): - **Visibility**: the share of the prompt's answers in the window that named your brand. - **Position**: where you appear when named, averaged over the window. Lower is better. - **Mentions**: answers that named you, out of every answer in the window. - **Engines**: one logo per engine. A logo keeps its colour when that engine's latest answer named you and is dimmed when it did not. Hover a logo for its rank and its count across the window. - **Top Competitors**: the brands AI named most often for this prompt. The bar above the table groups the prompts by how often they win a mention, in the same score bands as the visibility rings, plus **Never named** for prompts asked but never answered with your brand. The **All Platforms** filter recalculates every column for the engines you pick. When the window holds no run, an **As of** note gives the date of the run the figures come from. A query that failed counts here, and on a prompt's insights page, as an answer that did not name you; see [When a query fails](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology#when-a-query-fails). Click a row to open the prompt's insights page. ## A prompt's insights page Each measured prompt has its own page, reached from its row or **View insights**: - **The header** shows the prompt with its category, market, theme and tracking state. - **All Platforms** and the date range narrow the page. - **Visibility**, **Position** and **Sentiment**, each with its change against the previous period, and **Sources**: the distinct sites cited, with the share of citations whose source mentions your brand. - **Volume** and **Difficulty** meters. - **The trend chart**, one point per run, with Sentiment on the same 0 to 100 score as the card, then **Performance by Platform**, **Brand Rankings** for this prompt, **Citation Sources** and **AI Response History**, where you can read every answer the engines gave. A prompt with no answers yet shows **Nothing measured yet**. When it is tracked, the page gives the date of the next run. When it has never run, the page offers **Track this prompt**. ## Related - [Themes](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/themes): Group prompts by topic and generate more from research. - [Visibility page](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility): Read the results your prompts produce. - [Difficulty and volume](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/difficulty-and-volume): How the two meters are worked out. --- # Themes > Group prompts into themes, take new topics from research on your category, generate prompts for a theme and delete a theme safely. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/themes A theme is a set of buyer questions on one topic, such as pricing, integrations or a use case your product serves. Themes do two jobs: they group your prompts so you can filter every page by topic, and they are a source of new prompts, written from research on your category. Open them from the **Themes** tab on the [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts) page. ![The Themes tab of Prompts: the Tracked themes table with each theme's prompts and competitors, and the Suggested themes from research below it.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/themes.webp) ## Tracked themes The **Tracked themes** card lists the themes you have adopted: - **Theme**: the name and a one-line description. - **Prompts**: how many of the theme's prompts are tracked, with a second line for any that are paused or have never run. - **Competitors**: who you expect to meet on this topic, named by the research that produced the theme or by you when you create or edit it. They are not measured from your runs. The [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors) page shows who AI actually recommends. Each row's **⋯** menu offers **Open**, **Rename** and **Delete…**. The footer totals your themes and their tracked prompts. **Create theme** adds one of your own, with a name, a description and the competitors you want to note. Brands set up with the guided wizard already have tracked themes: the research during setup proposed them and you picked the ones to track. See [Quickstart](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/quickstart). ## Suggested themes Below your tracked themes, **Suggested themes** shows topics the research on your category surfaced that you do not track yet. The **From research** stamp marks them as research output, not measurement. Each suggestion card shows the theme's name, description and the competitors the research associated with it. Some carry a **Trending** chip: hover it for the reason the topic is rising. - **Explore prompts** adopts the theme as tracked and opens its page, where its first prompts are written. - **Dismiss** removes the suggestion for good. **Suggest more** checks new themes against the ones you dismissed, so a dismissed theme is not offered again. ### Suggest more **Suggest more** runs the research again and adds only themes you do not already have. The new batch is compared with your tracked, suggested and dismissed themes, so it never repeats one, and the suggestions already on screen stay. Cards from the latest pass carry a **New** pill. If every theme the research found matches one you already have, nothing is added and a message says so. With no suggestions at all, the section reads **Find themes worth tracking** with a **Generate themes** button. If your site could not be read, a note says the themes come from what the model already knows about your brand. ## A theme's page Opening a theme shows its name, description and competitors at the top, with a pencil to edit them. Below is **Prompts in this theme**: the same table as the Library, limited to this theme, with the same tracking switch, row menu, selection bar and confirmations. - **The first set is written for you.** A theme opened with no prompts generates its first set from the theme's research, unless you are at your plan's prompt limit. - **Re-generate** writes more prompts for the theme. Prompts that repeat ones the theme already holds are skipped. - **Generated prompts arrive as Never run.** Switch on the ones you want asked on the weekly run, or select several and press **Track selected**. - **Plan limits apply.** When the plan cannot fit the whole batch, a message says how many prompts were saved out of how many were written. A theme's set can include a few prompts that name your brand. They carry the **Branded** pill. See [branded and unbranded prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts#branded-and-unbranded-prompts). ## Deleting a theme Delete a theme from its **⋯** menu. The dialog lets you choose what happens to the theme's prompts. Each box appears only when the theme holds prompts of that kind: - **Delete its N never-run prompts** is ticked by default. Those prompts have never been in a run, so nothing measured changes. - **Delete its N measured prompts too** is unticked by default. These are the theme's tracked and paused prompts. Their results leave every run they were in, so your visibility numbers move, past runs included. Pausing them instead keeps the history. Anything you leave unticked stays in your Library without a theme. The button names what will happen, for example **Delete theme and 6 prompts**, or **Delete theme** when no prompts go with it. ## Filtering by theme Once your tracked prompts fall into at least two themes, an **All Themes** filter appears on the Visibility, Competitors and Sources pages. Prompts without a theme count as their own group, **No Theme**. A snapshot shows the filter when that run's prompts span at least two. The Prompts page has its own theme filter on the Library and Tracking tabs. ## Related - [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts): Track, pause and delete the prompts inside your themes. - [Visibility page](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility): Filter your results by theme. --- # Competitors > See which brands AI names alongside you, compare yourself with them prompt by prompt, keep a watchlist and fix merged competitor names. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors The Competitors page ranks the brands AI engines name alongside you in the answers to your tracked prompts, by visibility: the share of those answers that name each brand. Open it from **Competitors** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. Four cards sit above two tabs: **Overview**, the ranking of every brand, and **Head-to-head**, you against one rival. ![The Competitors page: your rank, Share of Voice, #1 rank rate and tracked competitors, the Overview and Head-to-head tabs, then the ranking table with visibility on each engine.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/competitors.webp) ## Detected and tracked competitors Ranqo finds competitors for you. Every brand an engine names in an answer to one of your prompts is detected, up to 20 per answer, with no setup. Those detected brands fill the rankings on this page and on the Visibility page. Your **watchlist** is the set of competitors you choose to follow closely. Tracking a competitor: - keeps it in the rankings and in Share of Voice even when AI names it only once; - lists it under **Watching** on the Overview table, even in a range where AI does not name it at all; - puts it first in the rival picker in Head-to-head; - adds it to the competitor chips on the Visibility trend chart, so you can plot its line next to yours. Add a competitor to the watchlist with the box at the end of its row in the Overview table, or **Watch** beside the rival picker in Head-to-head, where a message confirms each change with **Undo**. Untick the box, or hover **Watching** and press **Stop watching**, to stop following a competitor. Removing a competitor from the watchlist does not remove its mentions from your data. ### Which competitors count Some names in AI answers are noise: a brand mentioned once, with no website, that may not exist. A detected competitor appears in the rankings and counts toward Share of Voice when AI named it more than once in the window, or gave a valid website for it. A competitor on your watchlist always counts. See [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice). ## Filters The page has the same filters as the Visibility page: **All Platforms**, **All Locations**, **All Categories**, **All Themes** (when your prompts span two or more themes), **All Prompts** / **Branded** / **Unbranded**, and the date range. - The page reads the last 7, 30 or 90 days. **Last 365 days** reads the last 90 days, and a custom range reads a window ending today, not the dates you picked: 7 days for a range of up to 14 days, 30 days for up to 60, and 90 days for anything longer. See [Time zones](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/time-zones#how-each-page-reads-a-date-range). - The four cards and both tabs apply every filter, except the pages card in Head-to-head, which follows Outreach's own window. When the window holds no run, the four cards and both tabs show the last completed run, and an **As of** note next to the date picker gives its date. Changes against the previous window are not shown then. See [Carried values](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values). ## The four cards - **Your Rank** (*Where you place overall*): your position among all qualifying brands by visibility, for example *#3 of 18*. The arrow beside it is your change in visibility against the previous window, in points, though it is printed with a % sign. - **Share of Voice** (*Your slice vs competitors*): your share of every qualified brand mention. - **#1 Rank Rate** (*How often you rank first*): the share of all answers, across prompts and engines, where you are named first. Answers that do not name you count against it. - **Tracked Competitors** (*On your watchlist*): how many competitors you follow. ## Overview tab The table titled with your brand's name, such as **Acme's Competitors**, ranks every qualifying brand, with **Visibility**, **Position**, **Sentiment**, **Mentions** and **SoV** (Share of Voice), then one column per engine. A search box finds a brand by name. Three chips at the top left of the table choose which brands it lists, with your own average visibility over the period beside them: - **All** (the default): every qualifying brand. - **Watching**: every competitor on your watchlist, including any AI did not name in these answers, which show *Not named in these answers*. - **New & rising**: the brands marked **New** or **Rising**. It appears when the previous window holds answers. Under **Watching** and **New & rising**, your own row sits among them in its ranked place, so each brand reads against you. **New** marks a brand the previous window did not name at all and that is visible enough now to be more than a passing name. **Rising** marks a brand whose visibility rose by more than 15 points on the previous window, the ordinary movement between two runs. Hover either marker for the reason. Click a row to open that competitor's detail: - its logo, a link to its website, its rank and mention count, **Watching** if it is on your watchlist, and **Counted with** when AI used other spellings for it (see [Merged names](#merged-names-and-how-to-separate-them)); - **Visibility**, **Position**, **Sentiment** and **Share of voice** for that competitor; - **Visibility by run**: one point per run in the window. Hover a run for its visibility, mentions and position; - **By engine**: its visibility on each engine, the same figures as its row in the table; - **Queries**: one row per prompt whose answers named the competitor in the selected period, five to a page and the most visible first. Each shows its category, the engines (in colour where the latest answer named it, with the counts on hover), its visibility in that prompt's answers (hover for how many named it), the most common sentiment toward it and its average position. Click a query to open its insights page, where each run's answers are listed. ## Head-to-head tab **Head-to-head** compares you with one rival. **You vs** and the rival picker sit at the top, with **Watch** or **Watching** beside them; hover **Watching** and it reads **Stop watching**. The tab opens on your top rival. The picker lists the competitors on your watchlist first, then the most visible, each with its visibility, and its search finds any brand named in these answers. When a link opens a rival that your filters exclude, a notice says so, with **Clear filters** or **Compare with** your top rival. ### The matchup The first card opens with a scoreboard. On the left is the number of prompts you lead, on the right the number the rival leads, and between them how many prompts there are, how many are **Even** and, when there are any, how many name **Neither** of you. When most prompts are even, the even count takes the middle instead. Hover a number to see what it counts: the rival's says how many prompts it was named instead of you on and how many it was ranked above you on. Under the scoreboard, a strip shows every prompt, one block each in the same colours (a single bar when you track more than 50). Three panels follow: - **Where you stand:** **Visibility**, **Position**, **Share of voice** and **Sentiment**, your figure first and the rival's second, the better of each in bold. Every figure but position has two bars, yours above theirs, starting from the same edge. Position shows both of you as dots on a line from #1 to #10, so the dot nearer #1 is placed higher. Visibility and position show their change on the previous window when they moved. - **By engine:** when you track more than one engine, each engine's visibility for both of you, laid out the same way. - **Answers that name either of you:** how many answers name you and how many name the rival, then one bar of every such answer, split into those naming only you, both of you, and only the rival. Under it, **When AI names you both** counts how many of the shared answers put you first, how many put the rival first, and how many are **Even** (the same place, or one of you named without a place). These figures come from the same ranking as the Overview table, so the matchup agrees with the rival's row there. A prompt counts as one the rival beats you on when, on at least one engine, the latest answer in the window named the rival and not you, or placed it above you. It reads each engine's latest answer, so it describes where things stand now, while **Visibility** counts every answer in the window. ### Where the rival beats you The card titled with the rival's name, such as **Where Acme beats you**, lists your prompts one by one, each engine read from its latest answer in the window. Prompts where neither of you is named are left out, and the footer counts them. - **The chips:** the rival's name followed by **ahead** (the default), **Even**, **You ahead** and **All**, each but **All** with the colour its prompts have on the scoreboard's strip. A prompt is ahead for the rival when, on any engine, the latest answer named the rival and not you or placed it above you. It is even when no engine does that but on some engine you share a place, or one of you has none. You are ahead when, on every engine that names either of you, you are named alone or placed higher. - **The line under each prompt** names the engines, for example *Named instead of you on ChatGPT* or *Ranked above you on Gemini (#1 vs #3)*. Outside the ahead view it also names where you lead. - **The two engine columns**, yours and the rival's, show one mark per engine: in colour where the latest answer named that brand, dimmed where it did not. Hover your marks for your place. - **A row** opens the prompt's insights page, where you can read the answers. The **⋯** menu offers **Open prompt insights** and **Write a post for this prompt**, which opens Generate Blog with the prompt as the title. The footer repeats how many prompts the rival beats you on. When there are any, **Counter-content ideas** opens [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas) filtered to **Competitor counter** ideas. ### Pages AI cites for the rival, not you The last card lists pages and threads AI cited in answers that named the rival and left you out, taken from your [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach) list. Getting mentioned on them gives AI a reason to name you too. - Each row shows the page or thread, its site or subreddit, how many such answers it appeared in, and its play (comment, post or pitch), with **Working** once you have started it. Click a row to open it in Outreach; **See all in Outreach** opens the whole list. - Only open targets are listed: those still to do or in progress. - It follows Outreach's own window, the 90 days before Outreach last refreshed, and a page counts for a rival only when the rival is among the brands most often named alongside it. Your filters and date range do not apply to it. - Until Outreach has built its list, the card says *Outreach builds this list after your next run.* ## Merged names and how to separate them AI engines spell the same company in different ways: a short name, a legal name, a product name. Ranqo groups those spellings under one competitor, so its mentions are not split across three rows. The decision is made once per brand and remembered, so the same pair does not merge one week and split the next. See [Competitor identity](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/competitor-identity). When a competitor's detail or Head-to-head shows **Counted with** and the competitor's name, those are the spellings counted in its row, each with how many answers used it. If one of them is a different company: ### 1. Open the competitor Click its row in the Overview table, or choose it in the rival picker in Head-to-head. ### 2. Separate the spelling Press **Separate** on the spelling. A confirmation says what changes: the competitor stops counting answers that name that spelling without it; the spelling gets a row of its own only if you watch it, AI names it in more than one answer, or AI gives its website; and answers already saved under the competitor's name stay with it, while the rest move at once. Press **Count separately**, and a message confirms it will no longer be counted as part of this competitor, with **Undo**. ### 3. Group it back if needed A separated spelling stays listed, struck through, while answers saved under the competitor's name still count it there. Press **Group back** to count it as part of the competitor again, or use **Undo** on the message. Once the spelling is no longer listed, **Undo** on the message is the only way to group it back. A separation is remembered. Later runs do not merge the two names again, in either direction. ## Why some logos are a letter A competitor's website is never in the AI answer itself, so Ranqo works it out from evidence: the website stored for a competitor you track, the site AI reported for it, the pages AI cited and, on some pages, a search of a logo directory by name, each checked against the competitor's name. When no website is confirmed, the logo shows the first letter of the name. Ranqo does not guess a domain from the name, because a guessed domain often belongs to a different company, and a wrong logo is worse than none. See [Competitor identity](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/competitor-identity). ## Related - [Share of Voice](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/share-of-voice): The formula and which competitors count. - [Competitor identity](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/competitor-identity): How names are merged and websites resolved. - [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach): The pages and threads worth getting mentioned on. --- # Sources > See which websites and pages AI engines cite when they answer your prompts, what kind of sites they are, and export the list to Excel or CSV. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources AI engines that search the web cite the pages they read. The Sources page lists those citations for the answers to your tracked prompts: which domains and pages AI leans on in your category, what kind of sites they are, and which of them already mention you. Open it from **Sources** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. ![The Sources page on the Domains tab: the most-cited domains with their share of answers and citations, and the Source Types breakdown.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/sources.webp) ## Filters **All Platforms**, **All Locations**, **All Categories**, **All Themes** (once your prompts span two or more themes) and the date range narrow every card and tab. When the window holds no run, an **As of** note next to the date picker gives the date of the run the figures come from. See [Carried values](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values). A preset on this page includes today in its count, so **Last 30 days** starts one day later than the same preset on the Visibility page. When a run finished on that extra day, this page's totals can be lower than the Visibility page's **Top Citation Sources** card for the same preset. See [Time zones](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/time-zones#how-each-page-reads-a-date-range). ## The headline cards - **Total Responses**: the AI answers analysed in the window. - **Total Citations**: the links AI included in those answers. One answer can cite many sources. - **Unique Domains**: the distinct websites behind those citations, each counted once. - **Source Types**: how many kinds of site were cited, such as editorial, forum or review sites. - **Avg per Domain**: total citations divided by unique domains. A higher figure means AI leans on fewer sites. ## Source Trends and Brand Sources **Source Trends** plots how many times AI cited your own site in each run, next to your tracked competitors' sites. Each point is one run; days between runs are left empty rather than drawn as zero. The large number is the count in the latest run, with the change from the run before it. Click a competitor's chip to hide or show its line. **Brand Sources** lists the pages on your own site that AI cited most, with the engines that cited each page, its citations and its **% Answers**. ## % Answers and % Citations Two percentages appear on every source table, and they answer different questions: - **% Answers** is the share of AI answers that cite a domain or page. One answer usually cites several sources, so this column does not add up to 100%. - **% Citations** is a source's share of every citation AI made. Across all domains it adds up to 100%. On a card that lists only some domains, the column shows part of the whole. A worked example. In a window of 40 answers, AI cites `example.com` in 10 of them, so its **% Answers** is 25%. Those 40 answers carry 200 citations in total, and 16 of them point at `example.com`, because some answers cite it more than once. Its **% Citations** is 8%. Read % Answers to see how widely a source is used, and % Citations to see how much of the total it takes. See [Citations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/citations). ## Domains tab The table lists every cited domain, most cited first, and loads more as you scroll: | Column | What it shows | | --- | --- | | Domain | The website, with its source type. | | Models | The engines that cited it. | | % Answers | The share of answers citing it. | | Total Citations | Every citation of it in the window, counting each one in each answer. | | % Citations | Its share of every citation. | | Trend | Citations per day over the last 30 days of the window. | Search by name, or pick one kind of site from **All Source Types**. Click a domain to see the pages AI cited on it. The **Source Types** ring beside the table splits the citations by kind of site; switch it between **Citations** and **Domains** to count links or sites. ## URLs tab The same view one level down: every cited page, with its **Source**, the **Platform** that cited it, its **% Answers** and its **Content** type. Filter with **All Source Types** and **All Content Types**. The **Content Types** ring counts **Citations** or **Pages**. ### What counts as one page Two addresses are the same page when they differ only in tracking details: `utm_` and similar campaign parameters, click identifiers, a referral tag, a `#` fragment or a trailing slash. Any other query parameter is kept, so two different videos on one video site stay two pages. The page counts on the Sources page use this rule, so its totals agree with each other. ## Source types Each domain is classified by how it relates to you: | Source type | What it covers | | --- | --- | | You | Your own website, its subdomains and any other domains declared as yours. | | Competitor | Sites of competitors you track or that AI names. | | Company sites | Other company and vendor sites in your space. The broad catch-all. | | Editorial | News sites, media outlets and publications. | | Forum | Forums and question-and-answer communities. | | Review | Product review and comparison platforms. | | Social | Social networks. | | Video | Video platforms. | | Reference | Encyclopedias, knowledge bases and documentation. | | Institutional | Academic and government sites. | | Other | Sources that could not be classified. | Pages also carry a content type, the format of the page: **Ranked List**, **How-to Guide**, **Guide**, **Alternatives**, **Comparison**, **Review**, **Case Study**, **Checklist**, **Blog Post**, **Documentation**, **Product Page**, **Research**, **Video**, **Homepage** or **Other**. See [Source and article types](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/source-and-article-types). ## Citation Pool tab Your citation pool is the set of sources AI cites reliably in your space: sources cited repeatedly, or by more than one engine. The tab maps those sources and shows where you are mentioned and where competitors are ahead, in five parts: - **Your Pool Position**: how your brand ranks against competitors by how many pool sources appear in answers naming each brand, counting only brands present in the pool, with the pool's size and how many of its sources are cited on most of your engines. - **Opportunity Gaps**: sources AI cites often but that rarely appear in answers naming you. Your own site and competitors' sites are left out, since you cannot pitch them. - **Your Strongholds**: sources that consistently appear in answers naming you. Keep an eye on these for decline. - **Source Types in Pool**, **Platform Coverage** and **Content Types**: what the pool is made of. - **Browse the Pool**: the pool's sources with their **Citations**, **You** (how many of a source's citations sit in answers that also name you) and **Top Competitor**. To act on the gaps, see [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach). ## Export Data On the **Domains** and **URLs** tabs, **Export Data** downloads the list as **Excel (.xlsx)** or **CSV (.csv)**. The file holds the full filtered list, not only the rows loaded on screen. It follows the page filters and the source type and content type pickers; the search box does not narrow it. - **Domains** export: rank, domain, total pages, source type, % Answers, total citations and % Citations. - **URLs** export: rank, page title, page address, source type, % Answers and content type. ## Related - [Citations](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/citations): How citations are counted. - [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach): Turn the sites AI cites into a work queue. - [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors): Where a rival beats you, and the pages AI cites for it. --- # Traffic > See the people who reach your site from AI answers, search and social, and the AI crawlers reading it, from Site Tracking and Google Analytics. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/traffic The Traffic page shows who arrives on your site from AI answers, search and social, and which AI crawlers are reading it. Visibility tells you whether AI names you; Traffic tells you whether that turns into visits. Open it from **Traffic** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. ## Two sources The page is fed by one or both of these. They see different things, so many brands connect both. | | Site Tracking | Google Analytics | | --- | --- | --- | | How it works | A snippet on your server reports each page request to Ranqo. | Ranqo reads your GA4 property with read-only access. | | AI crawlers | Yes, including the ones that never run JavaScript. | No. Crawlers do not run the GA4 tag. | | Human visits from AI | Yes, classified from the request. | Only when the visitor's browser sends a referrer. | | Conversions | No. | Yes, any event you mark as a conversion in GA4. | | Set up | [Site Tracking](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking) | [Google Analytics 4](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/ga4) | Many AI apps strip the referrer when a visitor clicks a link, so GA4 files those visits under Direct. That is why the Google Analytics view carries a note about referrers, and why Site Tracking sees AI visits GA4 cannot. ## Connecting a source When neither source has data in the selected date range, the page reads **Connect a traffic source** and shows a card for each: - **Site Tracking**: **Set up Site Tracking** opens the install page. Once the brand has an active site key, the card reads **Continue install** instead. See [Verify your install](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking/verify). - **Google Analytics**: **Continue with Google** starts the connection, then you pick the GA4 property. Once a property is connected, the card reads **Connected — first sync in progress** until GA4 data appears in the date range, including after a sync that failed or found no matching sessions. See [GA4 not syncing](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/ga4-not-syncing). Once one source has data in the date range, the page shows it. The **Site Tracking** / **Google Analytics** switch appears when Site Tracking has visits in the range and a GA4 property is connected. Otherwise the page shows one source and offers the other as **Add Site Tracking** or **Add Google Analytics**. The date range defaults to the last 30 days. ## Site Tracking view This view needs the brand to have an active site key. Without one, the brand's recorded visits are hidden, not deleted, until a new key exists. See [Site keys](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking/keys). The header shows how many visits this brand has recorded this month against its monthly allowance, in the form *N / M visits this month*, counting bots and people together. The allowance depends on your plan, and visits over it are still recorded. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). ### Opportunities When the [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center) holds open recommendations built from your traffic and citation data together, up to three appear here, most impactful first. **View** and **View all** open the Action Center. The strip is hidden when there are none. ### The four cards - **Human Visits**: people landing on your site, across every source channel, with the number of channels that sent anyone. - **Agent Visits**: every visit captured, bots and humans combined, with the change against the previous period. - **Verified Bots**: the share of checkable bot visits whose address matched the range the bot's operator publishes, shown with the count behind it. Humans and bots whose operator publishes no range cannot be checked, so they are left out rather than counted as suspect. - **Pages Crawled**: the distinct paths on your site that received at least one visit in the window, from bots or people. ### Where people come from - **Human traffic by channel** splits human visits into **AI Platforms**, **Search**, **Social**, **Direct**, **Email** and **Other**. Click a channel for its detail. Its **Countries** card, captioned *Where visitors are coming from*, shows where the server that reported each visit is; see [Privacy](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking/privacy#where-the-country-comes-from). - **Human visits by AI platform** breaks the AI channel down by assistant. ### What the bots are doing - **Agent visits trend** plots visits per day, people included, stacked by **Intent** or by **Vendor**. In the **Vendor** view, people make up the **Unknown** band. - **Agent intent** splits visits by why they came: - **Training**: crawlers collecting pages to train models. - **Indexing**: AI search indexers building the index they cite from. - **Agentic**: fetches made on demand because a person asked an assistant something. - **Social Preview**: link-preview generators and automated browsers. - **Search Engine**: traditional search crawlers. - **Human (AI Referral)** and **Human (Direct)**: people, sorted by whether an AI assistant referred them. - **Agents detected** lists each bot with its operator and whether its visits were verified, with people as rows of their own (**AI-referred visitors** and **Direct visitors**). - **Funnel by AI platform** places each AI platform on a path from training crawls, to indexing crawls, to agentic fetches, to human visits. Each stage is a stronger signal than the one before. The label on each row, such as **Indexed, no agentic yet** or **Citing + driving traffic**, says how far that platform has got with your site. - **Top Crawled Paths** ranks the pages with the most visits, from bots and people together. - **Live Feed** shows the most recent visits and refreshes on its own, with the agent, the page, a country and, when known, the platform that sent it. The country is where the server or edge that reported the visit is. [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access) runs on its own after your tracking runs and fetches your site as each crawler it tests, so its requests appear here too, most of them as visits from those crawlers. See [Ranqo's requests in Site Tracking](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/crawlers#ranqos-requests-in-site-tracking). See [How Ranqo classifies visits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking) and the [crawler catalog](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/crawlers). ## Google Analytics view This view shows human sessions that GA4 attributes to the AI platforms and search engines Ranqo recognises as referrers. The header shows **Last synced** with the time of the last sync attempt, a failed one included, and a **Sync now** button. GA4 data also syncs once a day on its own while the connection is healthy. - **Sessions**: the sessions from those AI platforms and search engines in the window. The card's description reads *Visits from AI referrals*, but the count includes search engines. - **Engaged Rate**: the share of those sessions that GA4 counts as engaged. - **Conversions**: the conversions GA4 recorded in them. - **Sessions over time**: daily sessions by platform. - **Sessions by source**: the split across AI platforms and search engines, each marked **AI** or **SEARCH**. - **Top landing pages**: where those sessions began. The number beside each page is not its session count for the date range: each day's stored row holds the page's sessions for the whole period that day's sync fetched, and the card adds those rows up, so the number usually runs higher. Check the counts in GA4 itself. **Sessions**, **Engaged Rate** and **Conversions** show no comparison with an earlier period. When a sync fails or Google stops accepting the connection, a banner titled **Google Analytics sync error** or **Google Analytics connection expired** shows the reason and offers **Reconnect**. It appears only while the page has data to show; with none in the date range, the connect cards show instead. See [GA4 not syncing](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/ga4-not-syncing). ## Related - [Site Tracking](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/site-tracking): Install the snippet and see how visits are classified. - [Google Analytics 4](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/ga4): Connect a GA4 property. - [No Site Tracking events](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/site-tracking-no-events): What to check when nothing arrives. --- # Snapshots > Snapshots lists every tracking run for a brand. Learn how weekly runs are scheduled, how to read one run, and what failed or partial runs mean. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/snapshots Snapshots is your brand's run history: one row per tracking run. Each run asks every tracked prompt on the engines set for that prompt, shown in its **Platforms** column on [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts), and the results of each run stay here, so you can confirm a run completed and open exactly what the engines said that week. Open it from **Snapshots** in the Monitor section of the sidebar. ![Snapshots: one row per tracking run, newest first, each with its date, engines, result count, visibility and the change from the run before.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/snapshots.webp) ## How runs are scheduled Runs are automatic. There is no button to start one: Ranqo checks every brand once a day, and runs a brand when its last run is more than 7 days old. Each brand therefore runs on its own weekly anniversary. A brand is skipped when: - **no prompt is tracked**. Track at least one on the [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts) page; - **tracking is paused** for the brand, with **Pause** on its Home page; - **the account's trial has ended** without a paid plan. See [Billing and trials](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/billing). The Home page header shows when the next run is due, for example *Refreshes Sep 30*. When the date has passed, it reads *Refreshes tomorrow*, because the next daily check picks the brand up. Pausing and resuming does not reset the schedule. A brand resumed within the week waits for its original anniversary. One resumed after that runs at the next daily check. The very first run starts as soon as setup finishes, or as soon as you add a brand's first generated prompts to tracking, without waiting for the schedule. ## The run list The **All Tracking Runs** card lists runs newest first, a page at a time. Each row shows: - **The status**: a green check for completed, a red cross for failed, a spinner while pending or running. - **The date and time** the run completed, or started if it has not finished. The top row is marked **Latest** once it has completed. - **Visibility** for the run, with its change from the run below it in green or red. - **The engines** recorded for the run, and the number of **results**: answers that count toward the run's numbers. Each prompt is asked on its own engines, so the engines in the results can differ from the icons. - **Pos** and **Sent**: the run's average position and an older sentiment measure. **Sent** averages +0.7 for each answer that named you positively, 0 for each neutral one and -0.7 for each negative one, so it runs from -0.7 to +0.7. It is not the 0 to 100 Sentiment score shown on the run's own page and everywhere else. A run in which no answer named you shows **Pos** 0.0 and **Sent** +0.00: there was no position or sentiment to measure, not a neutral reading. The run's own page shows `--` for Sentiment in that case. Click a row to open that run. ## A run's page The page is titled **Tracking Run** with your brand's name, the date and the run's status. **Back to Snapshots** returns to the list. - **Visibility**, **Position** and **Sentiment**, each compared with the previous run, and **Total Sources**: the distinct domains cited, with the share of answers that cited your own site. Position reads 0.0 for a run in which no answer named you. - **All Platforms**, **All Categories** and **All Themes** filters that narrow the run to part of its answers. They apply to Sentiment, Total Sources, the *cited* count under Position and every card below them. Visibility and Position always show the whole run, and Sentiment's change compares the filtered answers with the whole previous run. **Platform Breakdown** and **All Results** ignore the theme filter. - **Brand Ranking**: how you rank against the competitors named in this run. - **Citation Sources**: the domains cited in this run, with **% Answers**, **Total Pages** and **% Citations**. See [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources) for what each column means. - **Share of Voice**, **Category Visibility**, **Position Distribution** and **Platform Breakdown**, as on the [Visibility page](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility), for this run alone. - **All Results**: every prompt on every engine in the run. Search it, filter by engine, category and outcome (**Mentioned**, **Not Mentioned**, and **Failed** or **Imputed** when the run has any), and click a row to read the answer. The dialog shows the reformatted answer when there is one, which for a long answer covers only its first 8,000 characters. See [Why numbers change](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/why-numbers-change#long-answers). When prompts or engines changed since the previous run, a banner says **Tracking configuration changed since last run** and lists what changed. The comparisons with the previous run may not be like for like. ## Partial runs An engine can fail to answer a query: it times out or returns an error. A run with some failed queries still completes. For each failed query, Ranqo looks for the most recent successful answer to the same prompt on the same engine from no more than 2 tracking intervals back (the limit is counted in days at your tracking cadence): - **Found**: the earlier answer's result is reused for this run and counts toward its numbers. The row is marked **Imputed** in **All Results**, and a banner reads, for example, *3 of 60 queries used historical data*. - **Not found**: the query is left out of the run's numbers entirely. It shows as **Failed** in **All Results**, and it is not counted as an answer that failed to mention you. A **Partial coverage** banner on the run's page says how many queries could not be answered, and that the scores describe only the ones that did. ## Failed runs A run is marked failed when it could not finish, including a run that stalls for hours. A failed run does not count as the week's run: the next daily check tries the brand again. If a brand's very first run fails, the Visibility page says **We couldn't finish your first analysis** and offers **Retry analysis**, or **Retry setup** when the brand has no prompts yet. ## Related - [Visibility page](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility): Results across all runs in a period. - [One point per run](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/one-point-per-run): Why charts plot runs, not days. - [Why numbers change](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/why-numbers-change): Normal movement between runs. --- # Page Audit > Audit any page on your site on the dimensions that decide whether AI can read and cite it, then work through the fixes each audit finds. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit Page Audit scores one URL at a time on whether AI engines can fetch it, understand it and want to quote it. Open it from **Page Audit** in the Analyze section of the sidebar. It has two tabs: **Audit**, where you start audits, and **History**, where every audit you have run is listed. Page Audit reads one page. To check whether AI crawlers can reach your site at all, use [Site Access](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access), which fetches your site as each crawler. ## The dimensions Every audit is scored on the dimensions below, or on the ones you choose. Each has a weight, and the page score is the weighted average of the dimensions that ran. | Dimension | What it asks | Weight | | --- | --- | --- | | Crawlability | Can AI bots access your content? | 11% | | Content Quality | Is content substantive and well-structured? | 24% | | Page Speed | How fast does your page load? | 5% | | AI Readiness | Can AI extract answers from your content? | 21% | | Citation Potential | Would AI want to quote you? | 21% | | Authority & Trust | Does your content signal expertise? | 18% | When a dimension does not run (you unticked it, or its data was unavailable), its weight is shared out across the ones that did, so the page score is always out of 100. The overview also shows two sub-scores under the gauge. **SEO Score** covers traditional signals: title, meta, headings, content depth, readability, links and technical checks. **GEO Score** covers how well AI can use the page: answer density, citation potential, authority signals and AI-friendly formatting. ## Audit one page ### 1. Enter the URL On the **Audit** tab, paste a page address into **Enter a URL to analyze** and press **Next**. The URL has to belong to your brand: its host must contain your domain, your brand name or one of your aliases. Anything else is refused with a message saying the URL does not appear to belong to your brand. ### 2. Choose the page type and dimensions Pick a **Page Type**. The type decides which dimensions run by default: a pricing or contact page is not judged on citation potential, for example. Then adjust **Analysis Dimensions**: - **SEO** runs Crawlability and Content Quality. - **GEO** runs AI Readiness and Citation Potential. - **E-E-A-T** runs Authority & Trust. - **CAI** (citation authority) runs Citation Potential. - **Page Speed** runs Core Web Vitals. ### 3. Analyze Press **Analyze**. The audit runs in the background and usually takes about a minute. You can leave the page: a banner at the top of Page Audit lists audits still running, and each opens its progress view. **Page Speed is off by default for the Other type:** A URL entered by hand starts as the **Other** page type, which does not include Page Speed. Tick **Page Speed** before you press Analyze if you want Core Web Vitals in the audit. ## Discover and audit many pages Below the URL field, until you have a discovered list, **Discover Brand Pages** reads your sitemap and crawls your site to build a list of pages. Discovery shows its progress as it connects, crawls and classifies each page. The list is saved, so it is still there when you come back. In **Discovered Pages** you can: - Search, and filter by **All Types** and **All Status** (Not Audited, Audited, Failed, In Progress). - Read each page's detected **Type**, how many of the dimensions it will run (**Dimensions**, hover for the list), its **Priority** (1 is most important) and its **Status**. - Use the row menu's **Edit** to change the page type, the dimensions or the priority before auditing. - Tick pages and press **Audit N pages**. One page opens its audit directly; several start together and the view switches to **History**. Some sites refuse or rate-limit crawlers. Pages that could not be read stay in the list with their URL but no title, and the card says how many there are. ## Read an audit ![A finished page audit: the overall page score, the SEO and GEO scores, and a card for each of the six dimensions.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/page-audit.webp) The audit overview shows the page title, its detected page type, the dimensions that ran, and: - **The page score** out of 100, with a grade. A low score adds a banner above the overview: one flagging critical issues, or, for a middling score, one saying the page has room for improvement. - **A card per dimension** with its score, how many checks passed, and the first few checks. Open a card for the dimension's detail page. - **Top Recommendations**, described below. Each dimension's detail page lists every check with its result and feedback. Several have extra tabs, each shown when the audit has data for it: | Dimension | Tabs | |---|---| | Content Quality | Audit Checks, Readability, AI Content | | AI Readiness | Audit Checks, AI Readability, Phrases & Tips | | Citation Potential | Audit Checks, Citation Funnel, Deep Analysis | | Authority & Trust | E-E-A-T Overview, Audit Checks, Author Entity | Crawlability includes an **External Link Health** check: up to 50 of the page's outbound links are requested, and broken ones are listed with the status they returned. The check identifies itself as RanqoBot and respects each linked site's robots.txt. ## Top Recommendations Top Recommendations gathers every check that failed or raised a warning, across all dimensions, into one list. Failed checks come first, and they are marked critical when their dimension has three or more failures. Use the dimension buttons to narrow the list. Each item links to the detail page where the check lives. When nothing failed, the section reads **All checks passing**. These are fixes for this one page. For work ranked across your whole brand, see the [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center). ## Pages that served no text Some pages send almost no text to a plain fetch, usually because the content is drawn by JavaScript in the browser. When a page returns fewer than 50 words and no main heading, Ranqo skips Content Quality, AI Readiness, Citation Potential and Authority & Trust instead of scoring an empty page, and scores only whichever of Crawlability and Page Speed you selected. The audit shows a **Content dimensions were skipped** notice with the word count it read. If you selected neither, there is nothing left to score and the audit fails with a message saying the page returned no readable content. Treat that notice as the finding. AI crawlers that do not run JavaScript see what the audit saw. A healthy Page Speed beside it is expected: Google's test renders the page, and the text fetch does not. ## Page Speed Page Speed comes from Google PageSpeed Insights, run as a mobile test. If Google's test returns nothing for the URL, the audit still completes without Page Speed and the page score is weighted across the dimensions that did run. Running the audit again often gets a result. ## History The **History** tab lists every audit, re-audits included, newest first, with its **Type**, **SEO** and **GEO** scores, **Status** and **Date**. Search by title, URL or domain and filter by type. Open a row to see that audit. Audit a page again after a fix and compare the two entries to see whether the score moved. ## Export A completed audit has an **Export PDF** menu with a **Concise report** (scores, a summary and every check) and a **Detailed report** (adds deeper insights, quick wins, an action plan and a glossary). See [Reports and exports](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/reports-and-exports). ## Monthly limit Every audit you start counts toward your plan's monthly allowance, including each page in a batch, failed audits and re-audits of the same page. Starter includes 10 audits a month and Pro 50. The full table is in [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). --- # Site Access > Check whether AI crawlers and search engines can actually fetch your site, what your server tells each one, and what to fix when one is blocked. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/site-access Site Access answers one question: when an AI engine sends its crawler to your site, does it get the page? It is the one measurement in Ranqo that can see a rule on your server or CDN that turns crawlers away. Open it from **Site Access** in the Analyze section of the sidebar. ![Site Access for ranqo.ai: the Clear verdict with blockers, things worth a look and requests made, the Overview, Crawlers, robots.txt, llms.txt, Sitemap and History tabs, the four file and crawler cards, and What we found.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/site-access.webp) ## What a check does A check fetches your homepage once as a regular browser and once as each of the 16 crawlers in Ranqo's catalog, sending each crawler's own User-Agent. Then it compares what each crawler got with what the browser got. - **The browser is the control.** It is what separates "this site blocks crawlers" from "this site was down". Without a browser answer, nothing is reported as a block. - **Requests are spaced out, never sent at once**, and anything other than a 200 is asked again a few seconds later before it is recorded. Firing every request together would trip rate limits and report a block that Ranqo caused. - **Deeper pages are checked too.** Up to 4 more pages, picked one per section from your sitemap, are fetched as every crawler. A refusal on the homepage that a deeper page contradicts is reported as unknown, not as a site-wide block. - **The files that govern crawlers are read fresh:** robots.txt (and what it says to each crawler for your homepage), your sitemap (whether it is reachable and declared in robots.txt), and llms.txt (whether a real file is served, not an HTML page at that address). A check takes about a minute. See [AI crawlers](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/crawlers) for the full catalog and what each crawler is for. **If your robots.txt disallows RanqoBot:** Ranqo reads your robots.txt as RanqoBot before it fetches anything. If your rules disallow RanqoBot, the check stops there and says so, and no crawler is fetched. See [RanqoBot](https://ranqo.ai/bot) for what it fetches and how to allow it. ## The verdict: a state, not a score Site Access deliberately has no 0 to 100 score. Measured across live sites, results cluster at the two ends, completely clear or hard blocked, and a score would blur the only distinction that matters. The banner at the top states one of four verdicts: | Verdict | What it means | |---|---| | Clear | Every AI crawler and Googlebot can fetch your site. Nothing is in the way. | | Worth a look | Nothing is certainly blocked, but something did not go the way it did for a browser, or a file needs attention. | | Blocked | Something is stopping AI engines from reading your site. | | Unknown | Ranqo could not load the site as a browser, or robots.txt disallows RanqoBot, so there is no verdict to give. | Under the verdict, **Blockers** and **Worth a look** count the findings of each kind, and **Requests made** is how many fetches the check sent. ## Blockers, warnings and notices Each finding has a severity. Only blockers make the verdict **Blocked**. **Blockers** are anything that removes you from AI answers: - A crawler that fetches pages to answer questions right now (a live-answer or AI search crawler) was refused by your server while a browser got the page. When Googlebot and Bingbot got in at the same time, the refusal is a rule about who is asking, usually a CDN or firewall bot filter. - Your robots.txt disallows a live-answer, AI search or search engine crawler. **Worth a look** covers results Ranqo cannot call a block with certainty: - Your server refused every non-browser client, search engines included. Real crawlers arrive from IP ranges their vendors publish, and a filter that checks those may still let them in, while Ranqo sends each User-Agent from its own servers. Check your CDN's bot settings directly. - Search engines were refused while a browser got the page (for the same reason). - A training crawler was refused by your server. Worth confirming it is a decision and not a side effect. - Your server answered 429 twice, which says more about request rate than policy. - A request timed out or returned a server error, so that crawler is unmeasured, not clear. - A crawler received a much thinner page than the browser did. - robots.txt could not be read, or no sitemap was reachable. - The check ran out of time before it reached every crawler, so the rest are unmeasured. - Ranqo could not load your homepage as a browser (the verdict is then **Unknown**). **Notices** are hygiene. They are listed but do not change the verdict: robots.txt disallowing training crawlers, a sitemap not declared in robots.txt, and a missing llms.txt. **Training crawlers are a licensing choice:** Crawlers that build training data are not how AI answers cite you today, and many publishers block them on purpose. Blocking one is reported, never counted as a blocker. What matters for citations is the live-answer and AI search crawlers. ## The six tabs - **Overview.** Four cards (**Crawler fetch**, **robots.txt**, **llms.txt**, **Sitemap**), each opening its tab, then **What we found**: every finding with an explanation and a button to open the tab and crawler group it concerns. When your sitemap is not declared in robots.txt and Ranqo knows its address, the finding carries a **Copy fix** button with the exact `Sitemap:` line to add. On a clear site, the panel says so and points you to the Action Center, because the visibility gap is somewhere else. - **Crawlers.** **Who can fetch your site**: one row per crawler with its status, response time and word count beside the browser's, filterable by **All**, **Live answers**, **Search** and **Training**. **Beyond the homepage** shows the deeper pages, and **Edge** uses response timing to say whether a refusal came from your CDN edge or your application, when the timing is clear enough to tell. - **robots.txt.** Your file as fetched, annotated line by line, with **What it tells each kind of crawler** for your homepage. - **llms.txt.** The file Ranqo found and the checks it ran on it. No engine has published that it reads llms.txt, so this is always a notice. - **Sitemap.** Whether it is reachable and declared, what is in it, and the sample pages the check fetched. - **History.** One row per completed check, with the verdict and a note on what changed since the previous one. Up to 26 checks are kept. ## When checks run Site Access runs on its own after one of your brand's tracking runs, at most once every 7 days. To check again after a fix, press **Re-check** at the top of the page. Re-checks have a cooldown of 60 minutes per brand, and only one check can run against a domain at a time. That is a limit on how often Ranqo hits your server, not a plan allowance: Site Access does not count toward any monthly limit. When a check finds a blocker, it also appears in **This week's signals** on your Home page. ## What to do with a blocker 1. Open the finding's tab to see exactly which crawlers were refused and what your server answered. 2. If robots.txt is the cause, edit the rule for that crawler. If your server or CDN refused it, look for a bot-management or firewall rule that matches the crawler's User-Agent. 3. Press **Re-check** once the change is live, and confirm the finding is gone. Clearing a blocker is a precondition for being read at all. Everything else on this page is hygiene, and Ranqo does not claim it will move your visibility. --- # Action Center > Work through prioritized recommendations built from your tracking data, then measure whether each one moved your visibility, counted in runs. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center The Action Center turns your tracking data into a ranked list of things to do, and then checks whether doing them worked. Each recommendation carries the metric it is meant to move and a baseline taken when it was written, so a finished action can be re-measured against where it started. Open it from **Action Center** in the Act section of the sidebar. ![The Action Center: plan completion, the four headline cards, the category and Show filters, and the Suggested, In Progress and Done columns.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/action-center.webp) ## Where recommendations come from Recommendations are generated from your tracking history: how each prompt category and each engine is performing, which sources AI cites for your competitors but not for you, and, when Site Tracking is installed, gaps between the answers that cite you and the traffic that arrives. A brand needs at least one completed tracking run first. - **Ranqo generates the plan on its own** after a completed tracking run, spaced several days apart, so it refreshes with your weekly runs. - **If the page is empty**, press **Generate Recommendations**. Generation runs in the background, with its real steps shown as it goes. You can leave the page and come back. - **At any time**, press **Regenerate** at the top of the page. The header shows how long ago the plan was generated. ### What regenerating keeps Regenerating never throws away work: - Anything you have touched (moved, started, checked a step on, completed or dismissed) is kept permanently. - The fresh batch is marked **New** and sorts first. The previous batch of untouched suggestions stays for one more cycle, so you can still pick from it. Older untouched suggestions are removed. - New recommendations are compared with the existing plan. One that repeats something you are working on, finished or dismissed is dropped. One that updates an untouched earlier card replaces it. ## What a recommendation contains Open any card for its detail drawer: - **Category**, such as Content Gap, Citation Opportunity, Competitive Response, Authority Building or Platform Optimization. Brands with Site Tracking also get Traffic Quality, Citation → Traffic Gap, Traffic → Citation Gap and Source Growth. - **Priority**: **Quick Win** (high impact, low effort), **Strategic** (high impact, higher effort) or **Moderate** (balanced). **Impact** and **Effort** are also shown on their own. - **The loop**: Measured → Act → Re-measure → Lift, with the metric this recommendation is measured on and its baseline. - **The expected outcome**, written from your run data and counted in answers. For example: how many of the tracked answers in scope already name you, what each further answer you win is worth, and how many you would need to win before the change stands out from normal week-to-week movement. - **Show rationale**, the reasoning behind the recommendation. - **Action steps**, a checklist. - **An action button** on Suggested and In Progress cards, named for the job (**Create content**, **Optimize page**, **Run page audit**, **Build authority** or **Start outreach**), which opens the tool for it: Generate Blog, Content Optimizer, Page Audit, Blog Ideas or Outreach. Content, page and authority recommendations also show a greyed-out **Publish to CMS** box under the action button. It is not a control. To publish a post, open it from Generate Blog and follow [Publishing](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/publishing). Technical fixes say plainly that no visibility change is expected from them. They make a page readable, which matters, but adding structured data on its own has not been shown to move AI visibility, so Ranqo does not promise it. They still get a measurement window and a **Re-measure now** button, and a reading taken on one is shown and counted like any other. ## The page - **Plan completion** shows how much of the plan (everything except dismissed items) is done. A card that Outreach moved to Done appears in the Done column but is not counted as done here (see [Linked from Outreach](#linked-from-outreach)). - Four cards summarize the loop: **Visibility** (with the change since the previous run), **In Progress**, **Awaiting Re-measure** (Done cards that have not had their reading taken yet) and **Verified Lift** (a sum of readings in points, described under [Verified Lift](#verified-lift)). - **Category** pills filter to one category. - The icon toggle on the right switches between **Board**, **List** and **Matrix**. Your choice is remembered in this browser. - On Board and List, the **Show** row filters to **All**, **New**, **Quick Win**, **Strategic** or **Moderate**. The Matrix already groups by priority, so the row is hidden there. The **Matrix** lays the whole plan out in three columns, Quick Win, Strategic and Moderate, including finished items. Dismissed items stay out of it. ## Work a recommendation The board has three columns: **Suggested**, **In Progress** and **Done**. Drag a card between columns, or use **Advance to** and the back button in the drawer. Ranqo moves cards for you at the natural points: - Checking the first step of a Suggested card moves it to **In Progress**. - Pressing the drawer's action button on a Suggested card moves it to In Progress and opens the tool. - When every step is checked, a notice offers **Move to Done**. On In Progress cards, the footer shows the next unchecked step. ## Measure the lift Moving a card to **Done** starts its measurement window. The window is counted in tracking runs, not days, because your numbers only change when a run happens. Every run that completes after you press Done counts, including one that was already in progress at that moment. - A Done card's footer shows **After N more runs** until the first reading is due, then **Re-measure ready**. Until the reading is taken, the card's meta row also shows a run counter (**run N/M**) toward the verdict window below. - The first reading is due after 2 runs: one to see a change, one to see it hold. - A verdict of "no effect" needs more runs, depending on the type of work: | Recommendation type | Runs before a verdict | | --- | --- | | Create content | 4 | | Build authority | 4 | | Outreach | 4 | | Optimize a page | 3 | | Fix a technical issue | 3 | ### Take the reading Ranqo does not take readings on its own. Open the card and press **Re-measure now** in the loop. Ranqo recomputes the recommendation's metric from the latest completed run since you moved the card to Done and compares it with the baseline. If no run has completed since then, a notice says so and nothing is recorded. Each card gets one reading: - **Re-measure now** is available from the moment the card reaches Done, including while it still shows **After N more runs**. A reading taken then uses only the runs completed so far. - Once the reading is taken, the button goes away and the card's meta row shows **measured Nd ago**. The reading does not change as later runs arrive. - Moving the card back to In Progress or Suggested and then to Done again keeps the old reading and does not bring the button back. To take the reading at the end of the window, press **Re-measure now** once the card's run counter is full (**run 4/4** for content work). If a run was in progress when you pressed Done, wait for one more run after that. ### What the reading shows The drawer and the rest of the page show the same reading differently: - **In the drawer**, the **Lift** step applies the noise band below. A reading larger than the band for its metric shows as a number in points; a smaller one shows as **No detectable change**. When the reading compared two runs of answers (see [Answers won](#answers-won)), the Lift step shows the number of answers won instead of points. - **On a Done card, and in the List and Matrix views**, the chip applies the same band. A reading larger than it prints in points (for example **+18 pts**, or **+18** in List and Matrix), green for a rise and red for a fall; a smaller one reads **No detectable change**, or the number of answers won when two runs confirmed them. A Done card without a reading shows **Lift pending** on the board. - **The notice after a reading** reports the change in points at any size, for example *Overall visibility up +8 pts since you acted.* Under a number, the drawer adds **early reading** while the card is short of its verdict window and **re-measured** after it; under **No detectable change** it adds *Too early to call*, then the metric's normal week-to-week swing. These labels follow the runs completed so far, not the runs the reading was taken on, so a reading taken early is labelled as final once enough later runs have completed. See [Measurement windows](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/measurement-windows). ### No detectable change AI answers vary from run to run even when nothing changed. Ranqo measured how much, and the drawer and the Done cards use these bands: a reading inside the band for its metric reads **No detectable change**. | Metric scope | Change needed to count as real | | --- | --- | | Overall visibility | 15 pts | | One engine | 20 pts | | One prompt category | 27 pts | See [Noise bands](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/noise-bands) for how the bands were measured. ### Verified Lift **Verified Lift**, the fourth card at the top, adds up readings in points, and counts them differently from the drawer: - It applies the overall visibility band of 15 points to every card, whatever its metric. Its tooltip refers to each metric's own band, but an engine or category reading larger than 15 points counts here even when the drawer shows it as **No detectable change**. - It leaves out cards that Outreach moved to Done (see [Linked from Outreach](#linked-from-outreach)), and it does not include answers won. - The value is the sum of the positive readings larger than the band. The subtitle reads *N of M measured actions showed lift*, where M counts the readings larger than the band in either direction. - Cards measured on the same metric each add their own reading, so one rise in that metric is counted once per card. - With no reading larger than the band it shows +0 pts. The subtitle then reads *measured, no detectable change yet* whenever Done holds a card you moved there yourself, whether or not a reading was taken on it, and *no measured actions yet* otherwise. ### Answers won When it writes a recommendation, Ranqo also records which tracked answers in the recommendation's scope named you and which did not. At the reading it compares them with the two most recent runs completed since you moved the card to Done, and counts an answer as **won** only when you are mentioned in both. A mention seen in one run is provisional. A line under the loop in the drawer gives the counts. This can confirm real wins that the overall visibility number is too noisy to show. See [Confirmed wins](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/confirmed-wins). ## Dismiss **Dismiss** in the drawer moves a recommendation to the collapsible **Dismissed** lane below the board. It is reversible: **Restore to Suggested** brings it back. When the plan regenerates, a new recommendation that matches one you dismissed is dropped. ## Linked from Outreach [Outreach](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach) targets link to the Action Center recommendation they serve. Marking a target done moves its recommendation into Done when that recommendation is still Suggested or In Progress, which starts the measurement window here. A recommendation already in Done, or dismissed, is left as it is. The target's link opens this page with that recommendation's drawer. A recommendation that Outreach moved appears in the Done column and runs the same measurement window, but it is not counted in **Plan completion** or **Verified Lift**. Dragging it or using the drawer does not change that, because the card is already in Done. After you take its reading, the notice that reports it offers **Mark Done** while it is on screen; pressing it counts the card as done in both. --- # Outreach > Find the Reddit threads, communities and publications AI cites for your category, rank them, draft a reply or pitch, and track the work to done. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/outreach AI engines quote the pages they read. Outreach turns the citations from your tracking runs into a work queue: the places AI reads when it answers questions in your category, ranked by how much getting mentioned there could matter, with a play and a draft for each. Open it from **Outreach** in the Act section of the sidebar. Outreach reads the citations collected over the last 90 days of tracking runs. A brand needs at least one completed run before the board fills. ![The Outreach board: the four cards, the Reddit and Publications channels with their play filters, and the To do, Working and Done columns.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/outreach.webp) ## What a target is A target is one place to go and get mentioned. There are two channels, switched with **Reddit** and **Publications** at the top of the board. **Reddit.** The subreddit is the main unit, because most threads AI cites are cited only once. A single thread is promoted to its own target once AI has cited it at least 2 times. Each Reddit target comes with a play: - **Comment** on a thread AI already cited. The citation exists; the job is to add a useful reply to it. - **Post** in a community AI reads, to start a thread of your own. **Publications.** Cited pages whose type is a Ranked List, Comparison, Review or Alternatives page: the roundups AI quotes when it recommends a vendor. The play here is always **Pitch**. Filter them with the **All Sources** menu (the kind of site) and the page-type chips. Your own site and your competitors' sites are never targets. ## How targets are ranked Every target gets a score from the same fixed formula, with no AI judgement involved. It weighs: - how many times AI cited the place, - how many of those answers named a competitor, and how many named no brand at all, - how often the citing answers left you out, - how many engines and how many of your tracked prompts cite it, - how recently it was cited, - and, for publications, how much the page type tends to drive recommendations. The score is measured against fixed reference points, never against your other targets, so a target's score never moves because another target changed. Cards show the score as a tier (High, Medium or Low leverage) rather than a number. Places below a minimum score are not suggested at all, so a brand with few citations sees fewer targets instead of inflated ones. ## The board Four cards sit above the board, the same on both channels: - **Answers missing you**: AI answers that cited a place you could work, named a competitor, and did not name you. The line under it adds the answers that named no brand at all. - **AI citations**: how many times AI cited a place you could work (a subreddit, a thread or a pitchable page) in the window, with how many subreddits and engines that covers. - **Open targets**: targets you have not started, by play. - **Working**: targets in progress, with how many are done. **Answers missing you** counts each answer once across your brand, so an answer that cites two places counts once. Until a refresh has computed them they show `--` with "updates on the next refresh", never a zero. The board has three columns: **To do · ranked**, **Working** and **Done**. On Reddit, the To do column lists Comment targets first, then Post targets. Sort it with the menu in its header: **Opportunity**, **Most cited** or **Recently seen**. Cards do not drag: open one and move it from its drawer. ## Work a target Open a card for its drawer: 1. Read why it is there: how many of your tracked questions it feeds and which competitors AI named in those answers instead of you. **Open** goes to the thread or page, and on Reddit **Read the rules** opens the subreddit's rules. 2. Work the **Checklist**. Checking the first step moves the target to **Working**. 3. Draft the reply, post or pitch (below), edit it, and post it yourself. 4. Move it along with the drawer's button (**Move to Working**, then **Move to Done** once it is published), or press **Not for us** to dismiss it. After you mark a Reddit target done, other targets in the same subreddit show a reminder that you posted there recently, for 14 days, so you can pace yourself. Dismissing is final for that target. A refresh brings in places AI has newly cited, not ones you dismissed. ## Drafts The drawer's **Draft comment**, **Draft post angle** or **Draft pitch** button writes a starting point from your brand profile, the place, and the questions and competitors behind it. It streams into an editor where you can change anything. **Try another** writes a new one, and **Copy** copies it. Drafts follow the rules that keep an account in good standing: - **Comments name your brand only when the thread's title asks for a vendor**: a recommendation, which tool to use, alternatives, a comparison, or whether something is worth paying for. Posts never name it. Pitches always do. - **When a draft names your brand, it discloses that you work on it.** If the writing model left the disclosure out, Ranqo adds one. - **Links to your own site are removed.** - A draft that names the brand where it should not, names it more than once, speaks as the company ("our tool", "we built"), uses a number not found in your run data, uses a phrase that reads machine-written, or runs long shows a warning under the editor instead of being rewritten. **Ranqo never posts for you:** Outreach does not connect to Reddit or to any publication, and it never posts, comments or sends anything. You copy the draft, open the place and post it yourself, under your own account. Each draft, including each **Try another**, counts toward your plan's monthly allowance: Starter includes 10 drafts a month and Pro 50. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). On Reddit, the board also carries a collapsible **How not to get banned** section with ground rules for posting. ## Done updates the Action Center When a target serves an [Action Center](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/action-center) recommendation, the card and the drawer name it. When you mark a target done, that recommendation moves into Done if it is still Suggested or In Progress, and its measurement window starts. One already in Done, or dismissed, is left as it is. Lift is measured there, not in Outreach: the Done card's link opens the recommendation directly. ## Refresh The board rebuilds itself after your tracking runs, at most once every 24 hours. Press **Refresh** at the top of the page to rebuild it now. A refresh recalculates every score and adds newly cited places. It keeps every target you have touched or drafted for, and removes untouched suggestions that no longer make the list. --- # Blog Ideas > Get article ideas written from the tracked prompts where AI does not name you, see the evidence behind each one, and send the best to Generate Blog. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas Blog Ideas suggests articles to write, each tied to the tracked prompts it is meant to win. Open it from **Blog Ideas** in the Create section of the sidebar. ![Blog Ideas: the four cards, the Show and Type filters, and the first two idea cards with their tags, why the topic matters and the prompts each one targets.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/blog-ideas.webp) ## Where ideas come from Ideas are written from your latest completed tracking run. The starting point is every prompt in that run that at least one engine answered without naming your brand, worst first (the prompts the most engines missed you on lead). For each one, Ranqo looks at who AI named instead, which pages it cited, and what kind of page those were (a ranked list, a comparison, a how-to guide), then asks for ideas aimed at those gaps: one idea per prompt before any prompt gets a second, each titled in the format AI cites for it. It also draws on your page audits and the topics competitors are cited for. - **The first time**, press **Generate ideas**. Before that, the page shows an example of what an idea looks like. - **After that**, press **Regenerate** to write a new batch from your latest run. Generation runs in the background with its real steps shown. You can leave the page and come back. ### What regenerating keeps Saved ideas and ideas you have already written a post from are always kept. The new batch is marked **New**; the previous batch you have not acted on stays for one more cycle, and older untouched ideas are removed. A new idea that repeats one you saved, wrote or dismissed is dropped, and one that updates an untouched earlier idea replaces it. ## The top cards Four cards describe this page against your latest run: - **Ideas to write**: ideas no post has been written from yet, with how many are new and how many are written. - **Gaps covered**: how many of your gap prompts have at least one idea targeting them, out of all your gap prompts. - **Named instead**: the competitor AI named in the most answers to your gap prompts, with its logo. - **Format AI cites**: the kind of page AI cited most when answering your gap prompts. A post in that format has the best chance of being cited. On these cards a **gap prompt** is stricter than the list ideas are written from: a tracked prompt where no answer in your latest run named you, on any engine. The cards update as you save and dismiss ideas. If AI named you on every tracked prompt, there are no gap prompts, and the cards say so. ## Filter the list Two rows of chips narrow the list, and they combine: - **Show**: **All**, **New** (the latest batch, not yet written), **Saved**, **High impact**, and **Written** once you have written at least one. - **Type**: the idea's category. **Visibility gap** (topics where AI does not mention you), **Competitor counter** (content that competes with a rival AI already cites), **Authority building** (content that establishes expertise) and **Topic expansion** (new topics next to your strengths). Each chip's count is taken over what the other row leaves, so a number never promises ideas the other filter hides. Your filters are kept in the page address, so a link to a filtered view opens the same view. ## Read an idea Each card shows: - Its **category**, its **impact** (High, Medium or Low), and its **format**. The format carries a check when it matches the format AI cites most on your gap prompts. - A **New** badge for the latest batch, or **Written** once a post exists. - The title, a short description, and **Why this topic**, the reasoning drawn from your run. - **Targets**: the tracked prompts the idea aims at. Each chip opens that prompt's insights page. Click anywhere on a card to open the idea drawer. It shows the full description and reasoning, then the evidence from your latest tracking run for the idea's prompts, stated once: - How many answers named you, out of all the answers to those prompts. - Who AI named instead (or alongside you), with logos. - The format AI cites for them, and the pages it cites. - Each target prompt, with the engines that answer it and whether each named you. Open a prompt for its insights page. Use the arrows at the top of the drawer to step through the filtered list. ## Save, dismiss, write - **Save** keeps an idea and puts it under the **Saved** filter. Press it again to unsave. - **Dismiss** removes an idea, and it will not be suggested again. - **Write this post** opens [Generate Blog](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/generate-blog) with the idea's title and its context attached. Once a post exists, the button reads **Open post**, and **Write again** starts another post from the same idea. Save and dismiss take effect immediately, and the confirmation that appears has an **Undo** button. An idea you have written a post from can be reopened, but not saved or dismissed. Ideas themselves do not count toward any monthly limit. Writing a post from one uses a post from your monthly allowance; see [Generate Blog](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/generate-blog). --- # Generate Blog > Write a full blog post from a title, in a Rich or Standard format and the length you choose, grounded in your brand profile and visibility data. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/generate-blog Generate Blog writes a complete post from a title, using your brand profile and your visibility data, structured so AI engines can quote it. Open it from **Generate Blog** in the Create section of the sidebar. The page has two parts: the **New blog post** card, and the **Blog library** of every post written for this brand. ![The New blog post card: the title field with ideas to start from, the Rich and Standard formats, the three lengths and what every post includes.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/generate-blog.webp) ## Write a post ### 1. Set the title Type a title into **Blog title**. With the field empty, **Start from an idea** offers your top [Blog Ideas](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/blog-ideas) still to write; press **Use** on one to fill the title and attach the idea. Arriving from **Write this post** on Blog Ideas does the same. Once the title reads as a known format (a ranked list, a how-to, a comparison), a line under the field shows it beside the format AI cites most on your gap prompts, so you can see whether the two match. ### 2. Choose the output format - **Rich**, marked **Recommended**, adds charts, tables, stat callouts and a pull-quote built from your own data. Best on your own site. Exports naturally as HTML. - **Standard** is clean Markdown: headings, lists and tables, with at most one chart. It drops into any CMS. Both formats can be exported either way. See [Exporting content](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/exporting-content). ### 3. Choose the length | Length | Words | |---|---| | **Short**, a fast, focused answer | 800–1,300 | | **Medium**, balanced depth | 1,300–2,300 | | **Long**, a comprehensive guide | 2,300–3,200 | Ranqo recommends a length from the title (a "what is" title fits Short, a complete guide fits Long) and marks it on the card. It follows the title as you type until you pick a length yourself. ### 4. Add context (optional) When no idea is attached, **Add context (optional)** opens a **Description** of what the post should cover and a **Target prompts** field for the AI prompts it should answer (press Enter after each). When an idea is attached, its description, reasoning and target prompts travel with the title instead, shown in the **From Blog Ideas** box. **Remove** detaches the idea and keeps the title. ### 5. Generate Press **Generate**. The button is disabled until there is a title, and when you have used this month's allowance. ## What every post includes Whatever the format and length, the generator follows the same four rules, listed on the card under **Every post includes**: - **The answer up front**: the question the title implies is answered early, within roughly the first 150 words. - **FAQ section.** - **Article and FAQ schema**: JSON-LD structured data (an Article, plus an FAQ page when the post has FAQ questions) is generated with the post and included in the exports. - **Only your real numbers**: the post cites only figures it has from your brand data, and charts and stat callouts only ever show real data. Where there is no number, it uses plain directional language instead of inventing one. ## The run A post is written in two passes. The run page shows each phase as it happens: **Preparing** the brief from your brand, the topic and its prompts; **Drafting** the full article, which streams onto the page with a live word count; **Polishing**, a second editing pass that refines rhythm and word choice so the draft reads naturally; and **Finalizing**, which formats the post, adds the schema and saves it. A post usually takes about two minutes. If the polishing pass fails, the post is saved from the draft rather than lost. When the run finishes, the post opens. ## The post page A post opens with its status (**Draft** until it is published live), its title, word count and structure, and the prompts it targets when it came from an idea. From the top bar: - **Publish** sends it to a connected WordPress site. See [Publishing to WordPress](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/publishing). - **Download** exports it as a complete HTML page, Markdown or a ZIP bundle, or copies HTML, Markdown or the JSON-LD. See [Exporting content](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/exporting-content). - The bin icon deletes it. ## The Blog library Every post written for the brand appears in the **Blog library** under the compose card. Each card draws a small cover from the post itself, such as its first chart or its sections, and shows **Rich post** or **Standard post**, the first line, the word count and reading time, what is inside (charts, callouts, sections, tables), whether it has an FAQ and schema, and its status. The icon toggle in the header switches to a table (**Post**, **Words**, **Read**, **Structure**, **Status**, **Created**). Your choice is remembered in this browser. Click a card or row to open the post. Its menu has **Open**, **Download HTML**, **Download Markdown**, **Publish…** and **Delete…**. ## Monthly limit Each post uses one generation from your plan's monthly allowance: Starter includes 5 posts a month and Pro 20. The library's footer shows how many you have used this month. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). **Deleting a post does not give the slot back:** The month's count is kept in a usage ledger, not read from the posts that still exist, so deleting a post, removing the brand or starting it fresh leaves the count unchanged. A run that fails before it saves anything does return its slot. Anything already published to WordPress stays there when you delete the post in Ranqo. --- # Content Optimizer > Rewrite a page you already publish so AI engines can quote it, with before and after text for every change, a generated FAQ and schema markup. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/content-optimizer The Content Optimizer takes a page on your own site, reads it, and writes the changes that would make it easier for AI engines to quote: rewritten passages, new sections, a restructured order, an FAQ and schema markup. It does not change your page. You copy the changes you want into your site yourself. Open it from **Content Optimizer** in the Create section of the sidebar. ![The Content Optimizer card: the page address field, pages to start from that AI already cites, and what every optimization includes.](https://ranqo.ai/docs/screens/content-optimizer.webp) ## Optimize a page ### 1. Enter a page address Paste the address into the field on the **Optimize a page you already publish** card. A page on your brand's site gets a check reading **On** followed by your domain as you type. With the field empty, **Start from a page** suggests pages worth a pass from two lists: **AI cites these** (your own pages AI already cites, most cited first) and **Audited** (pages you have run through [Page Audit](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit), lowest score first). Press **Use** to fill the field. ### 2. Check what Ranqo already knows about it Under the field, Ranqo shows how many times AI has cited the page, or that it has not yet, and its latest audit score when it has one. If you have optimized the page before, a notice links to that result. ### 3. Optimize Press **Optimize page**. The pass takes a little while; the card shows a running clock and what the optimizer is doing (reading the page as an AI engine would, comparing it with the prompts you do not win yet, rewriting the passages engines skip, writing the FAQ and schema). When it finishes, the result opens. ## Your own site only The optimizer only rewrites pages on your brand's own site. A page counts as yours when its host is your brand's domain, a subdomain of it, or one of the other domains declared for the brand, or when the main part of its domain name (the part before `.com` or similar) is your brand name, one of its aliases, or the first part of your domain. A host that merely contains your brand name is someone else's site. A page elsewhere is refused as soon as you type it, with a sentence saying so, and **Optimize page** stays disabled. A half-typed address is only refused when you press the button. The page also has to be readable. If Ranqo cannot fetch it, the pass stops with an error and does not use a slot. ## What an optimization returns Every pass returns the same four things, listed under **Every optimization includes**: - **Before and after for every change.** Each improvement is labelled **Rewrite** (a passage reworded), **Add** (new content) or **Restructure** (content moved or reorganized), names the section it applies to and why, and shows the **After** text, with the **Before** text where the change replaces existing wording. **Copy** copies the new text. - **A generated FAQ**: questions about the page's topic, each with a short answer an engine can quote. - **Schema markup**: JSON-LD ready to paste into the page head. **Copy JSON-LD** copies it. - **Only what your page already says**: the optimizer does not add facts the page does not contain. Check each change before publishing it anyway. The result page opens with the page title, its address, a short summary of the pass, the number of improvements and their mix by kind, and whether an FAQ and schema were added. If you have audited the page, its audit scores are part of what the optimizer reads. ## Optimization history Every pass for the brand appears in **Optimization history** under the card. Each card draws the page in miniature with the pass's changes marked on it, and shows what kind of page it is, the title and address, the summary, the changes by kind, and whether it added an FAQ and schema. The icon toggle in the header switches to a table (**Page**, **Improvements**, **Adds**, **Optimized**). Your choice is remembered in this browser. Click a card or row to open the result. Its menu has **Open**, **Copy URL** and **Delete…**. Deleting removes the improvements, FAQ and schema from Ranqo; the page itself is not touched. ## Monthly limit Each completed pass uses one optimization from your plan's monthly allowance, including a second pass on the same page: Starter includes 5 a month and Pro 20. The card shows how many you have left, and the history's footer how many you have used. See [Plans and limits](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/plans-and-limits). Deleting an optimization does not give the slot back: the month's count is kept in a usage ledger, not read from the results that still exist. ## Next steps - [Page Audit](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/page-audit): Score the page before and after you apply the changes. - [Exporting content](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/exporting-content): What you can copy out of an optimization, and how. --- # Publishing to WordPress > Send a generated post to your WordPress site as a draft or live, update it later in place, and add its JSON-LD schema separately. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/publishing A post written in [Generate Blog](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/generate-blog) can be sent straight to a connected WordPress site, as a draft for review or live. Publishing happens in one request while you wait; there is nothing to schedule. Before you can publish, connect the site once in **Integrations**. See [WordPress](https://ranqo.ai/docs/integrations/wordpress) for the setup and [WordPress connection fails](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/troubleshooting/wordpress-connection-fails) if it does not connect. ## Publish a post ### 1. Open the Publish sheet Open the post and press **Publish** in the top bar. From the **Blog library**, the card menu's **Publish…** opens the post with the sheet already open. If no site is connected, the sheet says so and links to **Set up an integration**. ### 2. Choose Draft or Live Under **Publish as**, **Draft** creates the post as a draft for you to review in WordPress first. **Live** makes it publicly visible right away. ### 3. Check the slug and excerpt **Slug** is prefilled from the title and **Excerpt** from the post's description, or its first paragraph when it has none. Edit either before sending. ### 4. Send it Press **Push draft** or **Publish live**. A confirmation appears with a **View post** link to the post on your site. ## What WordPress receives - The title, the post body as HTML, the slug, the excerpt and the status you chose. - Charts, tables, stat callouts and pull-quotes are converted to inline HTML, the same body the **Copy HTML** export produces. - The JSON-LD schema is **not** sent. See below. The post's status in Ranqo changes to **Published** only when you send it live. Pushing a draft leaves it as a draft in Ranqo. ## Update a post you already published Once a post has been sent, the button in the top bar reads **Published**, and the sheet shows where the post is, marked **Live** or **Draft on CMS**, with a **View** link. Publishing again updates the same WordPress post in place, rather than creating a second one; the button reads **Update post**. Use it to switch a draft to live, or to change the slug or excerpt. The status you choose is applied too, so choosing **Draft** on a live post turns it back into a draft in WordPress, while the post stays marked **Published** in Ranqo. If the post was deleted in WordPress in the meantime, publishing creates a new one. ## Why the schema is not sent Every generated post comes with JSON-LD schema: an Article, plus an FAQ page when the post has an FAQ. WordPress removes `
