# Carried values > When the date range you pick holds no tracking run, most pages show the last completed run with an As of date and no change. Here is why. Source: https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/carried-values Runs are weekly, so a date range can hold no run at all. When it does, most pages show the most recent completed run instead of zeros or blanks, with a note giving that run's date. This page explains when that happens, where the note appears, and why no comparison is shown alongside it. ## When a value is carried Each brand runs once every 7 days, on its own day of the week. A range of about a week usually holds one run, and can hold none: a run that finished a few hours later than usual, a run that failed, or a brand that was paused for a while all leave a short range empty. When the range you pick holds no completed run but an earlier one exists, the page shows the latest completed run from before the end of your range: - **An As of note** with a clock icon gives the date of that run. It sits beside the date picker on the Tracking tab of Prompts, on Competitors and on Sources, and in a competitor's detail. Hover it for the explanation. - **On the Visibility page**, the note appears only in the trend chart. The four cards show the carried run's values with no change and no date, so check the chart to see which run they come from. - **No change is shown.** The range before yours holds a different run, so comparing against it would compare two unrelated measurements. The carried run is always the latest one at or before the end of your range, so nothing sits between it and the end. ## Where you see it Carried values appear on [Visibility](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/visibility), the Tracking tab of [Prompts](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/prompts), [Competitors](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/competitors) (the cards, all three tabs and a competitor's detail) and [Sources](https://ranqo.ai/docs/guides/sources). Home's Share of Voice carries too, with no note. A prompt's insights page does not carry a run: when the range holds none, it has nothing to show. The charts treat it differently, because a chart plots runs where they happened: - **The Visibility trend chart** does not draw the carried run inside your range, because it did not happen there. It says *No tracking run landed in this range. Widen the date range to plot the last one.* with the same As of note. - **Source Trends on the Sources page** widens its axis back to the carried run and plots it there. Two other empty states look similar and mean something different, and the Visibility cards do not say which one you are looking at: - **The brand has never completed a run.** The Visibility cards show `--`. They never show 0%, which would read as a measured zero. - **Your filters exclude every answer.** If the range holds runs but the engines, locations, categories, themes or branded filter you picked match nothing, the Visibility cards show `--`. If the range holds no run and the filters match nothing in the carried run, Visibility and Share of Voice read 0% and Position and Sentiment read `--`. That 0% means no answer matched your filters, not that you were measured and not named. Widen the filters rather than the dates. ## Why a range needs to hold runs A range is only meaningful if it holds a run, and a trend needs several. That is why the pages that read tracking runs open on **Last 30 days**, which holds several weekly runs. The date picker's other presets are **7 days**, **90 days** and **365 days**, or you can pick your own dates. Not every page reads every preset as picked: see [Time zones](https://ranqo.ai/docs/methodology/time-zones#how-each-page-reads-a-date-range). - **Last 7 days** usually holds the latest run on its own. On most pages it starts at midnight seven days ago, so a run that finished seven days ago can fall inside it too. Expect it to carry the previous run when this week's is late. - **Last 30 days** and **Last 90 days** show a trend, and their changes compare several runs with several others. - **A custom range** that falls between two runs carries the one before it. A carried value is a real measurement, only an older one.
