Your first week
What happens after your first run, when the next one is due, what Ranqo refreshes by itself, and what to look at in your first week.
Your first run gives you a baseline. This page covers what Ranqo does on its own after that run, when the next one happens, and a short list of what to look at first.
What the first run gives you
When the first run completes, the wizard opens the Visibility page. You now have:
- your visibility score, average position, sentiment and Share of Voice, overall and per engine,
- the competitors AI named in the same answers,
- the sites and pages AI cited when answering your prompts.
These are single readings. Nothing can show a change yet: week-over-week deltas and trend lines need a second run. Until then, trend charts show one point, and the Home page's visibility score has no change chip under it. The Visibility card on the Visibility page reads Stable while the range before yours holds no run; that is not a comparison. See One point per run.
What Ranqo does by itself after a run
Three things start automatically when a run completes, the first one included:
- Action Center recommendations. Ranqo reads the run and builds a ranked plan of actions, so the Action Center is filled as soon as your first run lands. It rebuilds the plan after each weekly run. Work you have started or finished is kept. See Action Center.
- Outreach targets. Ranqo ranks the threads, communities and publications AI cites where you are missing. The list refreshes after a run at most once every 24 hours. See Outreach.
- A Site Access check. Ranqo fetches your homepage as each AI crawler and as a browser, and reports anything in the way. It checks automatically at most once every 7 days. See Site Access.
Blog ideas are not created automatically. Generate your first set on Blog Ideas when you are ready. See Blog Ideas.
When the next run happens
Each brand runs every 7 days. Ranqo checks once a day, at midnight UTC, for brands whose last run is at least that old, so each brand runs on its own weekly anniversary.
You can see when yours is due in two places:
- The Home page header reads, for example, "Last updated Sep 18, 4:12 PM" and "Refreshes Sep 25".
- The dashboard header, on Visibility, Prompts, Competitors, Sources, Action Center and Snapshots, reads "Last updated Sep 18 · Refreshes Sep 25", or "Refreshing now" while a run is in progress.
When the date has passed and the run has not started yet, the label reads Refreshes tomorrow: the next daily check picks it up. A run that fails is retried at the next daily check.
Runs are scheduled only. There is no button to start one by hand.
Pausing and resuming
Choose Pause in the Home page header, or Pause tracking from the brand's ⋯ menu on Brands, to stop a brand's weekly runs. Its history stays, and it shows as Inactive.
Choose Resume to start again. If you resume before the brand's weekly anniversary, the next run waits for that date. If the anniversary has already passed, the brand runs at the next daily check, usually the next day.
What changes with the second run
After the second run completes:
- The Home page scoreboard shows the change in visibility since an earlier run, for example "3.4 pts vs last week", or "Stable vs last week". See Tour the dashboard for which run it compares with and when the chip is hidden.
- Trend charts draw a line between the two runs.
- The Action Center counts runs for any recommendation you marked Done. A first reading needs 2 runs after you mark the work Done, and a verdict needs more. See Measurement windows.
When you pick a date range with no run inside it, pages show the most recent run's values instead of blanks, with an As of note giving its date (on the Visibility page, in the trend chart). See Carried values.
A checklist for week one
Read the Visibility page
Look at where you are named and where you are not: which engines, which prompt categories, which prompts. See Visibility.
See who AI names instead
Open Competitors to see which brands take the answers you miss, and add the ones you care about to your watchlist. See Competitors.
Check where AI reads
Open Sources to see which sites and page formats AI cites in your space. These are the places worth being mentioned. See Sources.
Start one recommendation
Open Action Center, filter by Quick Win, and move one card to In Progress. When you mark it Done, Ranqo starts measuring it. See Action Center.
Clear anything blocking crawlers
If Site Access reports a blocker, fix it first: a crawler that cannot fetch your site cannot cite it. See Site Access.
Audit your most important page
Run a Page Audit on the page you most want AI to cite, and work through its top recommendations. See Page Audit.
Generate blog ideas
Generate ideas for the tracked prompts where AI did not name you. See Blog Ideas.
If more people will use Ranqo, invite them from Settings. See Team and seats.
