Outreach

AI engines quote the pages they read. Outreach turns the citations from your tracking runs into a work queue: the places AI reads when it answers questions in your category, ranked by how much getting mentioned there could matter, with a play and a draft for each. Open it from Outreach in the Act section of the sidebar.

Outreach reads the citations collected over the last 90 days of tracking runs. A brand needs at least one completed run before the board fills.

What a target is#

A target is one place to go and get mentioned. There are two channels, switched with Reddit and Publications at the top of the board.

Reddit. The subreddit is the main unit, because most threads AI cites are cited only once. A single thread is promoted to its own target once AI has cited it at least 2 times. Each Reddit target comes with a play:

• Comment on a thread AI already cited. The citation exists; the job is to add a useful reply to it.
• Post in a community AI reads, to start a thread of your own.

Publications. Cited pages whose type is a Ranked List, Comparison, Review or Alternatives page: the roundups AI quotes when it recommends a vendor. The play here is always Pitch. Filter them with the All Sources menu (the kind of site) and the page-type chips.

Your own site and your competitors' sites are never targets.

How targets are ranked#

Every target gets a score from the same fixed formula, with no AI judgement involved. It weighs:

• how many times AI cited the place,
• how many of those answers named a competitor, and how many named no brand at all,
• how often the citing answers left you out,
• how many engines and how many of your tracked prompts cite it,
• how recently it was cited,
• and, for publications, how much the page type tends to drive recommendations.

The score is measured against fixed reference points, never against your other targets, so a target's score never moves because another target changed. Cards show the score as a tier (High, Medium or Low leverage) rather than a number. Places below a minimum score are not suggested at all, so a brand with few citations sees fewer targets instead of inflated ones.

The board#

Four cards sit above the board, the same on both channels:

• Answers missing you: AI answers that cited a place you could work, named a competitor, and did not name you. The line under it adds the answers that named no brand at all.
• AI citations: how many times AI cited a place you could work (a subreddit, a thread or a pitchable page) in the window, with how many subreddits and engines that covers.
• Open targets: targets you have not started, by play.
• Working: targets in progress, with how many are done.

Answers missing you counts each answer once across your brand, so an answer that cites two places counts once. Until a refresh has computed them they show -- with "updates on the next refresh", never a zero.

The board has three columns: To do · ranked, Working and Done. On Reddit, the To do column lists Comment targets first, then Post targets. Sort it with the menu in its header: Opportunity, Most cited or Recently seen. Cards do not drag: open one and move it from its drawer.

Work a target#

Open a card for its drawer:

1. Read why it is there: how many of your tracked questions it feeds and which competitors AI named in those answers instead of you. Open goes to the thread or page, and on Reddit Read the rules opens the subreddit's rules.
2. Work the Checklist. Checking the first step moves the target to Working.
3. Draft the reply, post or pitch (below), edit it, and post it yourself.
4. Move it along with the drawer's button (Move to Working, then Move to Done once it is published), or press Not for us to dismiss it.

After you mark a Reddit target done, other targets in the same subreddit show a reminder that you posted there recently, for 14 days, so you can pace yourself.

Dismissing is final for that target. A refresh brings in places AI has newly cited, not ones you dismissed.

Drafts#

The drawer's Draft comment, Draft post angle or Draft pitch button writes a starting point from your brand profile, the place, and the questions and competitors behind it. It streams into an editor where you can change anything. Try another writes a new one, and Copy copies it.

Drafts follow the rules that keep an account in good standing:

• Comments name your brand only when the thread's title asks for a vendor: a recommendation, which tool to use, alternatives, a comparison, or whether something is worth paying for. Posts never name it. Pitches always do.
• When a draft names your brand, it discloses that you work on it. If the writing model left the disclosure out, Ranqo adds one.
• Links to your own site are removed.
• A draft that names the brand where it should not, names it more than once, speaks as the company ("our tool", "we built"), uses a number not found in your run data, uses a phrase that reads machine-written, or runs long shows a warning under the editor instead of being rewritten.

Each draft, including each Try another, counts toward your plan's monthly allowance: Starter includes 10 drafts a month and Pro 50. See Plans and limits.

On Reddit, the board also carries a collapsible How not to get banned section with ground rules for posting.

Done updates the Action Center#

When a target serves an Action Center recommendation, the card and the drawer name it. When you mark a target done, that recommendation moves into Done if it is still Suggested or In Progress, and its measurement window starts. One already in Done, or dismissed, is left as it is. Lift is measured there, not in Outreach: the Done card's link opens the recommendation directly.

Refresh#

The board rebuilds itself after your tracking runs, at most once every 24 hours. Press Refresh at the top of the page to rebuild it now. A refresh recalculates every score and adds newly cited places. It keeps every target you have touched or drafted for, and removes untouched suggestions that no longer make the list.
